When vedic saraswati river dried up? I'm confused because many indologist gave their own different theories & date and location ?
@atacama10003 жыл бұрын
No one knows the exact date but it has to be somewhere around 3000 BC that's what I've heard and read.

Even Mahabharat which is assumed to be between 4000-3000Bc, mentions that Saraswati ends in Desert. Geographical data shows it fully dried around 2000Bc, when the Indus valley civilisation ended whose majority of sites are settled around dried river.

@@ProtiumPower According to astrology how much ago dried up- Saraswati river?
@ProtiumPower3 жыл бұрын
@@asifanwar2391 Why are you looking in astrology? Astrology deals with the position of planets and stars in Zodiacs and their effect on thought process of mind. Modern satellite images show the dried paths and river beds of the river. Some parts of river still used for agriculture in Rajasthan and Haryana as the water now only exist as underground stream. Ghaggar-Hakra is one of the remaining parts of the river. In the Indus valley sites from 3000Bc, there is a break of 100km where in that time the Saraswati must have gone underground, then reemerging, that is at the time of IVC it was still weakening. As I said many Indologist believe Mahabharat took place between 4000Bc to 3000Bc. It mentions Saraswati ends in Desert not Sea. But the Rgveda, the older of texts says that Saraswati is the mightest of all rivers. Predicting by geological trends of the river, it was so around 10000Bc when during the Ice age the global temperatures were lower and more ice was present in Himalayas. It also has been suggested that due to earthquake the path of Saraswati diverted to Yamuna and Ganga. Conclusion: Geological features take thousands of years of time to change. So there is no fixed date as for when it dries, but the trend of drying is noticeable.
