That's a nice radio. It looks simple to operate, and it can probably get a decent amount of battery life with those 2 AAs.

First of all it’s a Sangean: a brand known for great speaker sound, but no speakers. Secondly, it’s an SR, known for popping noise on medium wave with distant stations. Was that an issue? If not, then it’s a buy to me. There is also an SR35CL without the speaker, but it’s full size. Nice review on an interesting little radio!

I haven't really tried it out for distance stations I did get zoomer radio and a couple others and it seemed to be okay

Looks like prison issue radio. Is the FM stereo though headset? It uses a DSP chip as all new radios now use so it will be sensitive on tuning.
