This quote is from near the end of TreatsForBeasts’ short film, Perfect Little Dream. I find that film fascinating, along with his two others, their eccentricity is absurd, obtuse and often obscene. But enough of big dumb words, because they have released the soundtracks, something I was waiting for for a long while. Not only that, but they’ve released the music for four of their most popular videos. I can’t really explain or pontificate upon TreatsForBeasts very well, but their content and music means a lot to me. A tenebrous darkness pervades TreatsForBeasts’ videos and music as he explores what I can only describe as our reality from the lens of an alien. If I were to pin down a singular theme for TFB’s work, it’s that people are weird as fuck, and that the unfluid attempts to think of ourselves as normal and sane in this insane world are seeds of elitism, laziness and failure to understand the human condition.
His short films are beautiful, and such is his music - But although it doesn’t really take away from the music, I can’t help but feel like I recognise where some of his instruments come from. I think he uses FL Studio. I think he uses it pretty well too - It all feels awfully weird, yet strangely familiar. If you enjoy anything weird, out there, earnest and dark, treatsforbeasts: the music comes well recommended as well as 4 rewatches of his 3 movies, which will probably increase to 4 sometime soon. Also, listen to the Sanguinarius tracks, not just on this (which he lovingly packaged with his other material) but also on his album from 2017 Sin Nomine which like his treatsforbeasts work is uncompromisingly dark yet is more focused into a goth rock atmosphere.

I ask that about a lot of the songs on my channel haha. It is what it is. Some people say things like "If it's so good, why have I never heard of it?" And I tell them the exact same thing I tell people when they ask me why the Fellowship didn't just fly the eagles to Mordor. "Shut up!"

@@shinings Possibly because Tolkien didn't think of it. In universe there's a few good reasons - The Eagles were great creatures, and we see various different great figures - Men, elves, even Maiar - tempted to various degrees by the ring's power. It should also be noted that the eagles are kind of not particularly available. They need some real good reasons to carry you somewhere. And well, they had one - But the eagles would very much have to know what that reason was. It is very possible that they would have been tempted by the ring in mid-flight and taken it. So that's one reason. Another reason is shown in the Two Towers movie and in the Fellowship book, in Two Towers there's a Nazgul flying over the dead marshes on a fell beast, we can assume that Mordor has quite a bit of air support and patrolling. In Fellowship, Legolas literally has to shoot down a fel beast who is pursuing the fellowship. This would have been just as much an obstacle, if not moreso, than the journey Frodo ended up going on. Now there is still an argument to be made for the eagles, the eagles are a bit of an overpowered thing, just like Gandalf, that needs to be addressed. To this, I have a fairly simple rebuttal. @@shinings LotR isn't a very high-tier setting. No outright teleporation exists and Gandalf couldn't just wave a wand and make people fly, or the ring for that matter. Not only that, Gandalf would have to come into contact with the ring, which he outright refused to do on many occasions BECAUSE he was so much more powerful than your average person, and if he had used the ring or held it for too long he would quickly become a vector through which Sauron's will could be done. Gandalf becomes more powerful as Gandalf the White, but by that time Gandalf had essentially no idea where Frodo or the Ring was, which is probably lucky as it wouldn't have helped anyway.

This song feels like your in a journey to improve your life. It goes smoothly, but in your situation, its all depression, sadness. Abandoned Neogothic buildings surround you, you slowly realize your lost, theres no hope, no future. The more you run the more abandoned building you come across, pink skies, no life but the sounds of crows you can’t see, you slowly run into trees with no plantation to be seen, just dark gloomy trees with nostalgic texture, you slowly panic noticing your situation. You hallucinate, running from all your fears, you enter these buildings looking for an escape. But then you quit, the more escapes you find the more lost you get, theres no life, no sound. Just sight, the sight of hopelessness, and a depressing view, you sit there. Slowly die, as you slowly notice the situation you are in. Theres no hope.
