Quick note, you're limited to a maximum of 4 psychic boosters, 4 speed boosters, and 2 deathrest accelerators.

It's worth mentioning that sanguophages don't have any needs while death resting. So if you ever get in a situation where you can't feed your vampire, just make him deathrest and turn off auto-wake until you have enough blood to take care of your leech again.

For prisoners hemogen farm, cut the prisoners legs and give them a really bad gene so he need less food (-50%) and will never try to escape

@@MrBakku I did this with 6 prisonners, problem 6 meals per day, could reduce the price with nutrient paste, but still a huge amount of time to feed the prisonners

Auto wake does have a reason you would untick it. If you didn't have hemogren packs you could keep them asleep

Thanks for the video! I recently had a go with them, turned three prisoners into armless and legless folks in tiny cells for blood food. (installed peg legs and bio arms, removed them straight after.... no more prison breaks, even their mood was stable) This video helped me understand the DeathRest accessories.

i play with biotech for the first time right now, and also the first time with medieval overhaul and some submods. started with only one colonist, a vampire knight. its like a different game and i love every second. best game and mod community ever

I'll just say that I'm currently dealing with my Sanguophage's major psychite and alcohol adictions. Yeah they wont die from an overdose, but withdrawls are a major hit the health of your pawn. I'm on a boreal forest tile that can only grow during summer, so a lot of power is needed to grow drugs. Space is also an issue with marsh everywhere, and my prisoners need to eat so I can get my hemogen. I'm walking a fine line here and barely getting by. Any time they get alcohol and psychite withdrawl, they just collapse.

Vampire with vanilla psicast expanded and rimworld of magic is awesome, i kill a 40 pawn raid with only one vampire, and they was not tribals, they have Guns and really good armor

@@Ic0nGaming I have not logged played for a couple of months so I have a couple of questions relating to aging which will affect kids: I heard rumor we can now change how fast all pawns age, is that true? I only know cause I saw one of the aging mods I used to use said they were not updating it anymore and someone said they were sad since base game limits it to a x6 speed. For a generational game the desire would be for children to age at a rate that is usable and for adults to age fast enough they eventually get sick and die. Which raises second question, do pawns die of old age issues? I used to always use a mod for that but I've heard they can now. TLDR: Can we make adults age faster and will adults ever die from old age related issues without mods?

@@xavierdoesntmatter Old age doesn't kill a person but the ailments that come with old age will kill the person. They will have a weak immune system or random ailments (bad spine or cataract) that makes it easier for them to die. Babies are the ones that age fast because waiting a whole 18 years in rimworld would be too long.

@@Samrtfirdeg After playing for a while with my wife, yes there is a slider for adults to age faster as well. Generational gameplay is 100% possible if you want to set children and adult to age at 6x speed. Might get a mod to make it 10x later. As far as not dying from old age but instead dying from ailments, in my experience that is how real life works so I'm fine with it LOL

At 22:10, You mention the Death on Down sliders. This does not stop random fatal wounds, only a random death on down roll from otherwise non fatal injuries, such as a destroyed arm. It gives you a better chance to recover your pawns or capture enemies.

Yeah I finished playthrough of sanguophage. My vampire didnt have a single break down in whole playthrough. Because after first few hours of playing I realized how op in melee he is. So many times I got into situations when I thought I was going to lose him. (down in fire, hit by doomsday, manhunter pack overwhelmed) but after few limbs replacement it was goddess pawn for mech cluster destruction. Damn i didnt know that i can have more than 5 accessories. I preferred to take hemogen bag from pawns, because direct blood sucking give them mood debuff.

The problem with taking hemogen bags is the downtime due to anesthesia and requiring industrial grade medicine. if you have prisoners, it's simple and time saving just to have your vampire "sample the buffet". the prisoners would be unconscious from bloodloss so often that their mood or prison breaks barely happen. and the debuffs from bloodloss make eventual prisonbreaks a cakewalk for a superhuman vampire to beat em with a mace.

They don't regen limbs or appendages, as I learned when trying to fix some horrible injuries another colonist suffered by turning them

One issue I've been noticing is that since sanguophages don't need to sleep as often, they tend to miss out on some loving' with their partners. I'm not exactly sure if there is a way to force them to sleep outside of mods. Miss out on a pretty good mood buff :\

I haven't seen this issue yet, but you are of course absolutely right. I really hope for some more micromanagement tools for Lovin', now that it's integral for making a Rimworld Dynasty.

Thanks for the guide! I do have a question: Since all the sanguophange genes are xenogenes and not germline genes, if a female sanguophage has a child, then the child is not automatically a sanguophage without undergoing the gene transplant, correct? The only reason I ask is sometimes things like this can be exceptions so can't be 100%

Vampire don´t get Vampire-Kids. They will be normal Kids. The Vampire Traits are not inheritable!

current colony 5510 tribal start sea ice x number of mods royalty ideo and biotech all activated with main game theres options in prisoner tab to turn them into hemofarms be it ex colony member raider dirtmole even long pigs doing it manually i think a lot less ppl would go/try sang also so long as its a pawn in game that has blood and not something lkke gasoline runnin in its veins its targetable by down to be bloodfed on thats the fang and tongue button think of it something like a stimpack cause you can use it during fights behind cover buildings rocks what have you coagulate with bloodpacks on your blood drinkers turns them directly into in field super medics and makes things like a vampire who doesnt like violence runs a true possibility on that same note something like psycasts expanded with a healer class or perhaps rim of magic with a vampire turned priest becomes a god pawn for healing both in field moments like checking a mechanitor base for that headlink turning that peace loving blood drinker into a machine god running around with their own army of scythers and backed up by flamer centipedes with sniper shots from aparions a very very real threat yeah i like peace but let the deathresting vampire lie specially if hes jacked on luciferium gojuice and has a disposition as a baseliner turned modified hussar just sayin RUN

oh and not to mention as long as a colonist is drafted now and the enemy/fellow colonist is downed you can rightclick and select a few new options 1 being tend 2"being Tend without medicine and my personal favorite 3 Carry making it so special field prisons and last ditch efforts to save a colonist a very real and much easier fight with time as you dont have to rely on logic of pawns to set up shop unless its a prison cause it still has to have walls and door bur thats where everyone getting jimp packs and wings comes in for those who can afford the chemfuel/neutromene upkeep the wings cost a bit the packs have less charges but still let you bounce huge distances 1 way not to mention usavbility with recon / catsphract armors 🙃 super soldiers are now a dime a dozen and all of em are probably stronger than pawns from version 19 gene editing is where the next huge step comes from cause you can make xolonist unwavering loyal to you by using the same thihgs the empire did and rewrite a baseline human to have a dependency on a certain drug for instance a rim of magics mana potions and give trrash plant skills to said pawn and replace the voice with squeals from the pigskins there are serious options now both with and without mods and not to mention that without the drug in a year the rewritten pawn dies of not having it 30 days = comatose like i said options

hello, why are my pawns get downed and cant walk after deathrest...? even when i wake/auto- wake up them?

Does sound a bit like a mod conflict, cause that should not happen. Waking up your vampire too early does inflict a 20% debuff on consciousness (this can lead to downing) but this would only apply if your pawn is pretty banged up already. Cause normally you can walk around fine with the remaining 80% consciousness.

@@CoRni6983 Well, with all the things being implemented into the game quite newly, this does happen more often than I like it to see. Many bugs don't produce "faulty code". The game just considers this to be okay (like your dude being perma-downed) and go on with it. You can only hope the modders will fix that in some time or go into the very ungrateful job of finding the culprit mod. My experience with these problems is that they almost always get fixed over time. But that's just my perspective, don't know how you are modding your game and what kind of conflicts might exist. Modding Rimworld is like a metagame you have to play to actually play Rimworld sometimes.

21:32 do snguophages regrow lost bodyparts as well? Or will they still lose an eye, an arm and three toes when I shoot them down?

They still lose body parts, but they're a lot tougher and will almost invariably survive.

Can sanguophages construct things? I can't see any rules that say they can't, but mine shows it can not.

If your Sanguophage can't construct, that has to be cause of his/her background. Vanilla Genes can't block certain skills (yet), so it has to be a character trait.

yeah tehre is reason to not have auto wake up on. In my colony 3 sanguinos we have are basicly super soldiers that only need to be up when there is a fight. They fight, help clean up after fight go to death rest untill they are needed again. I am sure many other players found reasons not to turn on auto wake up so "there is no reason not to have that on" is a sentence that,, as a creator of a GUIDE, you should avoid as it shows you didnt think of something and that makes your guide less valid, if you didnt think of this what else you didnt think of. Just a creative criticism, its not hard to not make absolute statements and if you want to reach as wide audience as possible, avoid those ;)

Well, thanks for pointing out a use for that "Auto-Wake" scenario. And your "creative criticism" is a very general statement, which I try to apply to all my videos. Sometimes you just end up with some wording which is unfavorable. I am always working on improvement, and avoiding such statements is quite natural there. Still, sometimes in many hours of work it happens.
