How do you remove the platform? Mine won't come out? Wish you would have showed how.

I just bought one today having the same issue. Luckily I got my husband to help out. He wiggled and pulled a few times and finally got it out.

I agree. The platform just wriggles out. I wish the video would show that !

I’m Here for the same reason! Thank you for at least asking the question as I was worried that maybe it shouldn’t be removed x

Hey Jordan, Wanted to give some quick tips on the Agar plates. To prevent tearing of the agar, slant the plate at about a 45° angle and angle your swab. Divide the agar into 4 divisions (almost like a half star pattern). The plates need to incubate upside down in a temperature of about 90F for 2-3 days. Growth should have formed on the before plate.

Thanks for the great suggestion! I think my plates might have been contaminated in transit, and I definitely didn't have a proper incubator to put them in. I might have to do a follow-up if I can find a reasonably priced incubator?

Jordan Keyes That could be why there was no growth on the agar. Also make sure to buy 'nutrient agar' not just regular agar. With nutrient agar it has medium that feeds the bacteria which allows it to live outside a host. The cheapest way to incubate these plates at home is to look into making a light bulb incubator.

i made an ozone generator setup with one of the 10gram/hr generators on ebay and a pc fan and a cardboard box. id turn the generator on with a fan blowing across it inside the box and put the mail in there for like 15 min with the box mostly closed. outside of course. it worked well for getting rid of musty smells too on things that sat in the basement too long lol.

Is the UV bandwidth stared? From what I have read many of these use blue LED's that do nothing.

From the Q&A section on Amazon, Homedics responded with "The UV-C LED wavelength of the light is 265nm - 285nm."

The video is inconclusive. Don’t watch if you are here to find out if this UV sanitizer actually works

I don't have the bag. My device is smaller, but I think my HoMedics UV Clean Portable Sanitizer is supposed to operate in a similar way. Put phone in. Zipper bag shut, and ensure zipper tag is in the proper position wt the magnet. Plug USB in. At this point green light is blinking. Push power button. Unfortunately when I do it just keeps blinking green. It never turns blue. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had to unplug mine from the charger and then it worked as advertised

Yknow what would be even better? Not necessarily uploading failed experiments for the sake of content. Like yo I seriously learned nothing other than the fact agar bacteria kits from amazon are a dud. I mean the point that "hey this device is better than nothing", is moot coz, well... maybe it's not better than nothing. Maybe we're wasting money.. I think we all clicked this video to determine efficacy and it kinda was disappointing.

You maybe introducing bacteria just by opening those plates and exposing them to air. Ideally, you should open the plates only inside a biocabinet found in labs.
