I was in awe of Smita Jaykar's beauty and talent after watching HDDCS in 99. Aishwarya was amazing in the movie and that film immediately made Aishwarya number one. But Smita ji too had a great role and many important scenes to deliver.

Jis movie characterc mein artists ka role equally important hota hai woh movies superhit hoti hi hoti hai. Aap koi movie dekh lo lagaan ,chak de, lage raho. Character artists ko acche se dikhane se full plot badiye se band jata hai. Akele hero ya story pe dalne se risk hai. Hero ka kaam pasand nahin aaya to movie flop. Isliye pehle zamane mein character artist jaese Mehmood,Asrani,keshto,Pran ka accha kasa role hota tha.

6:06 - oh my goodness, this scene in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with Aishwarya Rai and Smita Jaykar is one of the most memorable scenes of all-time. When I watched it for the first time, I said "She [Ash] is going to win Best Actress for this film"... and she did. Of course Smita was splendid too, but the scene is sooooooo gut-wrenching, and just epitomises the madness of young/first-love... and the relationship of a concerned mother torn between duty/society and her love for her daughter...

Sanjay Leela's observation to minute details is so great, but he couldn't tell the difference between Italy and Budapest, Hungary. Hahaha... in the film Sameer comes from Italy but they shot the film in Hungary and called it Italy, that is so typical Bollywood 😅😅😅😅😅😂 I never understand why they make such stupid mistakes in Bollywood films? It really kills the authenticity of the whole film and turns it into a mimicry 😅
