Mr. Sanyal is on point, realistic and isn’t trying to spin! Much respect and appreciate his comments. Sustained annual growth rate of 8% or higher in the next 5-10-15 years isn’t doable. He should similarly freely talk about his focus areas for India - what and how should India build India’s journey and story over the next few years? His insights are valuable. India can achieve the kind of economic growth only if it succeeds in strengthening the structural foundations (legal, financial, and cultural) foundations of its market system. The most important among these is enforcing financial laws - ensuring speedy trials of financial culprits and jailing the criminals for long terms so that the message that crimes (especially financial crimes) will be dealt with severely . The lethargy in investigating such crimes in Kerala in recent times is an example of this problem.

Good effort but 4k per capita by 2030 is still really low. Most countries have not escaped poverty (of any kind) at that GDP per capita level.
