One important note: you should NEVER create access keys for root. It is much safer to create a new IAM user assigned to group(s) with restricted credentials for day-to-day CLI operations. Otherwise, if your keys are compromised, your entire account is compromised rather than a strict subset of services. Godspeed, cloud engineers!

it would be great if you post videos on aws integration with jenkins, three tier architecture for app/mob server and list of aws cli commands in sheets ... kudos to u for explaining these things in details

Thank you this was a really great course! 3 things frighten a beginner 1) potential billing 2) command lines and 3) documentation. this video really hit the mark in giving me confidence to navigate these factors. where as i was once afraid of AWS CLI..I am now excited about it. thanks!

Please tell me that AWS has added encryption-at-rest for the credential storage! Sitting right there in your home directory, it doesn't take much of a break-in for someone to steal your credentials.
@ScottKrehbiel4 ай бұрын
Nope - still totally unencrypted. I'll suggest that they might want to add all your credit card info in there as well, just to have all the more Personal Information exposed to hackers.

Question regarding download verification: AWS-cli/2.1.14 Python/3.7.9 Windows/10 exe/AMD64 prompt/off is the output I receive from the command line. How do I know its been downloaded. FYI I'm not familiar with CMD or Powershell.

This was awesome even being 3yrs old. There were some instructions that I couldn't find on the Cli user guide like commands for the s3 bucket. Please consider doing an update. It would be awesome to go from Cli to console and then show the architecture diagram.

Hi there, thanks for the well done in-depth guide. I wanted to ask if there was a way that I can generate bulk direct links for objects that are in my bucket? I am using this to host product photos for an amazon seller account and would like bulk links that I can put into an excel spreadsheet. Thank you so much for the info

Just getting started with AWS: Growing more and more frustrated with all those clicks, and I literally woke up fearing that I need to learn another set of cli commands along with what I already know (PowerShell, Bash), and God forbid I need to do it for every cloud solution. But, thanks a ton to you for just tossing that fear factor out of the equation.
