Man Jeffrey is too cool. Seems like the hosts were trying their hardest to get Jeffrey to throw salt in MJ's game. Still he wouldn't do it. He just kept talking about how great a dancer MJ is. Class act all the way.

Jeffrey doesnt take credit for making up the move at all, he actually gives credit to the EB's and the Lockers for influencing his dance, but what he does take credit for is introducing the dance to the UK audience on Top of the Pops.He does get co-choreographers credit for working with M.J., and there is no denying that the routines have JD's flavour! At the end of the day, what really matters is that he is an extreme talent in his own right, and at nearly 50 he is still blazing!

Some of the greatest people in their field are hidden by history - JD case in point. This guy genorosity speaks volumes, shame why some fans always try to create divisions. Some of the comments here trying to belittle him compared to MJ just PATHETIC. Every flower must have a root or it is nothing. BOTH artists in their own ways have contributed enormously to music/dance.

Great video. It brings back memories of watching soultrain and all the great tracks from the 70's & 80's that I grew up with. JD was fantastic on top of the pops and it is great to see he can still move... No need to compare to MJ. JD has his talent and MJ has his. No one can honestly say that MJ doesn't deserve credit for taking moves and absolutely refining them in his own way. Everyone needs inspiration!

We have to keep in mind is some once can teach you a dance move but it's all about perfecting that move, making it your own. Giving it style. We all learned dance moves from watching someone do it. Also,there are alot of people to give props for MJ's moves, like Michael Peters, who choreographed 'Beat it' and 'Thriller' but MJ made these moves his own. As Jeff did say, 'Michael is a work-aholic' and by having that attitude he has developed moves to have style, attitude and charisma....Take note.

I have a video of fred astaire's trainer commenting on michael jackson... He said: "for me to compare Michael to Fred astaire would do Michael an injustice.. Because what makes Michael so great is his OWN style and his OWN originality.." Sure Michael was influenced by other dancers as well (including james brown and jackie wilson) But Micheal said "I didnt invent the moonwalk.. I only enhanced the dance".. EVERY artist has borrowed something from SOMEONE..

This guy taught Michael about 5 dance moves, popping, backslide being the most famous or any type of slide. However they were not invented by him Jeff was taught also. It's who can do them that matters cause it's bloody hard! Michael was popping in the 70's though check out Dancing Machine.l. Mike also taught Jeff, there's videos of Jeff doing moves Mike does from the Wiz way back in the 70's also. They complimented eachother being both natural dances.

TICKIN WILL From the ELECTRONIC BOOGALOO LOCKERS FROM FRESNO CALIFORNIA created the backslide and the side glide as we know it today. a version of this move was done before in the 1930's it was done on soul train not by Jeffery but by CREEPIN SID from THE ELECTRIC BOOGALOOS from LONG BEACH! Its within the last year..close to summer I believe. A nice vid for you to see JD when he just went solo back in the early 90's is one called "She's the girl". That entire Skinny Boy album was pretty good..just wasnt marketed properly.

Hello Ianier , thanks for your input , but it was actually Gerone Casper Candidate (cooley's partner) and Jeffrey who taught MJ the moon walk and Jeffrey was there at the Mowtown 25th to congradulate MJ when he walked off the stage . But please keep in mind , there is no contest between MJ and JD they are dance brothers and hold a mutual respect for eachother and created amazing performances together , so what's everyone elses problem with them ? I hired Greg Burges for Bad , MJ didn't know him personally and i knew him through Stephanie Mills ( they did the Wiz together) I was flown to NYC and it was my first video and we wanted someone else with experience but Gregg (r.i.p.) just copied steps from Westside Story ( look at BAD) my steps are original . This is Jeffrey past his prime which I believe his is still good if not better. Have you seen MJ dance lately? MJ did say he didn't make up the moonwalk but he never gave Jeffrey credit publicly as well as some other dancers for a lot of his so called signature moves.

No way is this guy better than MJ, granted he inspired him, but Mike firstly got the moonwalk off a bunch of kids on the street, and secondly is a lot more graceful than JD, MJ's moves flow a lot more and his robot is miles more advanced.

i understand what you are saying and agree with you totally.You cant really say either one is better because they are both wonderful dancers in their own way.daniel is more intricate and Michael is more James brown kind of funky and dances in the moment. I actually stongly think Michael Jackson does the moonwalk better than daniel.Notice Daniel has really short strides?While Michael has longer strides and he uses movements of his arms and legs to compliment the sliding backward look.

Man, I don't know about that. We have seen alot more of MJ's dancing than Jeff's. Micheal is an overall musical icon and I love his music/dancing to death but Jeff looks to be, at least, his equal in the dance department from all the vids of Jeff I have seen.

Uh, wrong, Jeffrey Daniels is 54. Michael Jackson was 50 going on 51 before he died. You got it backwards. Jeffrey is 3 years OLDER than Michael. As for MJ without surgery, just look at Jermaine or any other of the brothers for an idea of how MJ may have looked with no surgery
