Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) said in an interview that if given the chance, the marriage of Sansa and Tyrion would've worked out. D&D explained in S08E01 that if Tyrion weren't Dany's hand, he would've gotten a different (and perhaps a warmer) welcome from Sansa. Dinklage and D&D knew and arguably agree that the Sansa x Tyrion pair would've made sense and it would've been possible. Sadly, the timing wasn't right when they reunited in Winterfell. They were in the wrong situation at the wrong time. At least the confirmation from notable people in GOT that the pairing would've made it gave me some comfort about the ship.

I think Tyrion couldn't be with Sansa because he was in love with (wtf?!) Daenerys. Sansa said that "his loyalty would become a problem" and actually openly told him to choose: she or Deny. and Tyrion chose. After his choice (it really sad, but) I think that they will not get back together. I can only hope that GRRM give them endgame.

@@asorti495 yeah Tyrion did love Dany, which is why it was wrong timing for Sansa and Tyrion. We could all agree that Tyrion has also a feeling of fondness with Sansa and vice versa since they've been through the same hell together for a while. Imo, if they had a chance to be together again, even if politically, and without them in the wrong circumstances, then Tyrion and Sansa might work their feelings out for each other.

I think this is the only thing the D&D did good in season 8. Giving them an open ending.Tyrion's feelings for Sansa was always sth different I'd say. He has always been extra gentle with her.There has always been this urge of him to look out for her,to protect her,to comfort her. At first,it was more about guilt and pity. He was with Shae then. Afterwards, as you all said,he was into Dany. But things took a shift when Sansa came back into the picture. She wasn't that pitiful little girl anymore. Yet Tyrion asked about Sansa to Jon by bringing up their 'marriage' jokingly. "Did she miss me?" the dialogue was intended to be a joke at the same time,it feels like Tyrion was actually curious as well. It was clearly visible that Sansa wasn't happy about Dany being the queen,but what bothered him most was what Dany might do to her. "You're scared of her" Yep,but he was scared for Sansa as well. I had a hunch that at the back of his mind,he'd hoped his and Sansa's marriage would work out and it EXACTLY came out in the crypt episode "we should have stayed married". He actually never ever got over her.

I am so mad that these two did not get an endgame. What was even the point of the crypt scene? What was the point of their relationship? At least they could've given them a final scene. Oh man.....I still believe that GRRM is going to give us the Sanrion endgame we deserve.

Tyrion loved Dany because he had not seen Sansa in years and he thought she abandoned him. She was the first woman he trusted who respected him as a man. Bran watched them when they reunited and saw the love he had for the new Sansa who was the equal if not superior of Dany. And Bran saw Sansa's pain at seeing the one man who protected and cared for her without motive devoted to another woman. Remember, his first thought at arriving in Winterfell was if Sansa missed him terribly. Code word for he missed her terribly. He was torn but when he sat with Bran at the feast, he told him about all Sansa went through and that she had not abandoned him. And that Dany was going to go mad. But he kept the Kings Landing massacre to himself. That is when Tyrion became afraid of Dany. Bran did not tell him about Jon. Tyrion had to choose for himself, that is what Sansa meant in the crypt. She was so hurt when he sat by Dany and not her at the feast. They had to trust and choose each other again. Sansa had to choose to tell Tyrion and get into the game to save her love and her family. They always called her Little Bird, that was also the name of Vary's spies. Sansa told Tyrion who, if he loved her, would tell Vary's and he would tell everyone. Dany knew as much and said so. She asked why he did not keep that factoid to himself. When Sansa told him about Jon it was a test as well as a truth. When she saw he was afraid she remembered how she stuck by Joffrey when she was terrified of him. She gave him a chance to get away and save Jon too. Remember Cersei told her women use sex to control men. Dany was doing that all along with every man in power that she could use. The Dothraki prostitute showed her how. She started with Khal Drogo but fell into her own trap and loved him. Bran saw all of this. Hell, she use it on Yara too LOL. Sansa was disgusted that all the smart men in her life went dumb for the oldest trick in the book. When she said why her, she was forcing him to face the truth about Dany's sex haze. And the someone better was Bran,not Jon. Sansa knew he was a weak leader. But the three of them knew he was the only one to get past Drogo to stop Dany who fell into her own trap again and loved Jon. Remember she said she felt nothing for the other man she left behind. But she could not shake Jon. Tragaryen incest curse. Tyrion knew that he had a way to get back to Sansa and prove his loyalty. If he loved Dany he would NEVER have told that big mouth Varys about Jon LOL. Then he shut Varys down because he knew Varys could switch back if the wind blew that way. He chose Sansa. Tyrion, Sansa, and Bran hatched a plot. And it worked. They were the Three Eyed Raven. Once things settle in Westeros you better believe he will be King Consort of the North and she will be Lady of Casterly Rock just like Margery said.

I am sooooo pissed they didn't at least have a final scene together. I thought that if perhaps Sansa and Tyrion knew about Jon sooner he would have convinced Daenerys to give the North to Jon to rule as an ally, it would remove him as a threat to Dany's claim to the throne in the south and guarantee the gratitude and support of Sansa and the other Northern Lords. She could have announced it at the victory feast and then added that she will only grant the North independence when Cersei is removed (since she will not recognize their independence). Sansa would know Tyrion was behind it and definitely be greatful. Perhaps Tyrion could say something to the extent of "it may be too late now, but at least one of your would be husbands was able to do something to make you happy." In a way, accepting her statement in the crypt that it wouldn't work between them. Sansa could have then done something as subtle as place her hand on his and say "maybe it's not too late." Giving us a moment to see that there is still something there and that she does have feelings for him. Even if nothing happened after that, though a brief moment of them being seen the next morning leaving her room would have been nice. Then later in that scene with him and Jaime after he talks about Brienne Jaime could ask Tyrion about him and Sansa and Tyrion can be a bit cryptic. It's not stated that they spent the night together but the fans are left to ponder. That would have been at least something to help make sense of the rushed mess that was season 8.

А если Вы про ту сцену с Джоном "я тоже её люблю", так там явно имеется в виду другая любовь. Он любил её как подданный любит свою королеву, в которую верит! А не как женщину. Вот Джон её как женщину любит и это хорошо видно. Ему тяжело было принять, что её убить нужно. Потому что она ЛЮБИМАЯ ЖЕНЩИНА. А Тирион легко к этому пришел. Сожгла город- нужно избавляться от сумасшедшей. Точка. Сразу чувствуется разница. И как Тирион сказал Джону? "Из тщеславия" её служил. Ему нравилось быть вторым человеком после матери Драконов. Из тщеславия! Не от любви, как к женщине. И Тирион ещё сказал Джону потом, что через пару лет поедет к Стене))) По пути, явно заедет к Королеве Севера)) Так что их встреча гарантировано состоится через пару лет)) В общем, ещё не вечер)).

И после этого он добавил "но не так успешно как вы" или что он хотел этим сказать? Что Дени не любила его как десницу?)) Тирион откровенно сдал позиции в последних двух сезонах и если я думала, что это возможно из-за того, что он предал Дени и тайно заключил сделку с Серсеей, то ДиДы решили оправдать его глупость тем, что наш мальчик влюбился. И я думаю, что у Мартина может быть такой же поворот сюжета. В изначальном сценарии у него был любовный треугольник Джон/Арья/Тирион, но многие линии персонажей отдавались другим в конечном итоге, так и Арью могла заменить Дени Санса... Я думаю, что тут создатели решили сделать так, что она никогда не выйдет замуж (вспомним Елизавету Тюдор, которая тоже в свое время правила единолично). Хватит - натерпелась. Когда-то это было самое заветное желание Сансы, но она переросла свои детские иллюзии. Тириону она предложила выбор: она или "доаконья королева", и Тирион выбрал Дени (тут больше вопрос преданности, чем любви). Санса достаточно принципиальна и хоть к Тириону она относится хорошо, но теперь она статусом повыше. У Тириона был шанс и он его упустил, не думаю, что от нынешней Сансы он получит второй.

The writers simply forgot to bring them together, considering how much was left in question and how lazy Benioff and Weiss ended the saga. As Sansa said, they can't be together just because of Deynerys, but she is already dead ... so I think this is a failure in the memory of showrunners
