Sengol was used in all Tamil Kingdoms (Pandiyan, Chola, Chera and Pallava) with the earliest record from the oldest Pandiyan Kingdom 3000 years ago mentioned in Silapathikaram literature. It symbolize three sectors of the government - Judiciary, Executive and Legislative even in those time and raised above any personal choices like religious beliefs (Jainism, Buddhism, Shaivam and Vainavam, etc.) and any form of cultural and societal diversities. If BJP want to respect the Sengol - they should uphold a government that respect all three powers especially Upper and lower houses and Supreme court. Beware, till now no Tamil Nadu or Indian ruler enters the temple of Tanjore where the Sengol ruled - those who entered and have faulted in their administration have lost power or lost their life immediately. The thing I do not like about the parliament are the pillar capitals are not decorated . This was a golden opportunity to create new pillar forms of Indian architecture. Another thing I do not like is are the gates on the narrow sections of the parliament should have been grander and decorated. They seem like ordinary gates. Entrances to these sort of buildings must be grand. A great example is Fatehpur Sikri or the Amer Fort.

I still love original BHU buildings having beautiful incorporation of temple architecture. Given me , I would give Tirupati temple look to the outer surface of central halls …central temple corresponding to speaker’s sitting areas . From overall outside walls would still have similar aesthetic of council house . I find all entrances have some influence of Mughal architecture… see entrance of Jama Masjid! For Vishwanath corridor, I have still not seen new developments but my emphasis would be to see how this corridor would be able to expand with seamlessly embracing , original Temple ( today Gyanvapi ), how that area despite being temple area how it becomes paradise/ imagination of lord’s abode ( Kailash ) having lush green gardens , nearby freely accessible to Ganga ma. Once you enter in the campus.. you enter into heaven/ imagination of GYANGANJ ( if not today but for future).. entire loka/ world where there’s heavenly Kailash to elderly waiting for last time of lives to real continued cremation going on . All would be not obvious without desire ( otherwise children can have negative impact ). Even BHU & Tirupati have that grandeurs… once enter inside.. you are in different world.

@Kraken Thunder they are best seen in caves and mountain cuttings /carvings . But even Kailasha temples central building lookwise is very similar to main Tirupati temple . National emblem is hardly obvious despite being so huge . Looks it was installed for sky view only . Given any day my two inspirations for Indian national architecture would be ( for non religious) BHU buildings and Tirupati campus with beautiful central temple design… no structure accommodates more ppl everyday despite it being not new campus .
