*Dear Sir, we know that you have always stood up against injustice and that is why we need your help for the very important issue of SSC CGL 2023 examination (conducted for recruitment of group B central govt officers). The faulty answer key was released in dec 2023 after declaration of the final result. The answer key had more than 5 questions (claimed to be 7 in the court case) for which the answers were wrong. This number is extremely significant considering that the total number of questions in the exam was 130 only. The court case has been ongoing since dec 2023 but the aggrieved students have not got the relaxation they deserve due to legal complexities and lack of attention from national media that NEET exam issue got. We have high hopes from you as the expenses in the legal proceedings have been so much that most petitioners are unable to contribute financially anymore and the time delays have broken them mentally. The honourable high court (Delhi) had observed in the single bench judgement that one question was wrong so clearly that it did not even need any subject matter expertise, but the court refused to intervene with other questions that were not so straightforward. Although, this proves that other questions are likely to be wrong as well and that is why students have been demanding for an external independent committe since the very beginning, but the court has been reluctant to order for the same. As per the data given by the SSC in the court, nearly 800 candidates out of nearly 8500 total originally selected candidates would be affected only due to change in answer of that one question.The magnitude of this blunder can be understood by considering that even if answers to 4-5 questions (out of total 7 questions challenged) are altered, then the number of candidates affected will be multiple times higher than the current number 800. In addition, there are a lot of candidates who have been selected in the final result, but their ranks have been affected adversely and as a result either they have not got the post/department or the location which they would have got otherwise. The situation is even worse for some of the petitioners who will be overage for the next exam CGL 2024 and CGL 2023 was their last attempt. Considering all these facts and also that the case is likely to go to supreme court in coming days, we request you to kindly help us as much as possible. We know that you have always stood up against injustice and that is why we believe you will definitely support us.*
