Most instructors are as "normal" as this guy, it's just that sometimes you gotta call instructions over 80 other kids lol

wow, if these types of videos existed when I was corps age... I see why these kids are so good now, there's no reason they can't study and practice perfect technique with all of the amazing examples.

One of my "nieces" toured with the Cadets in 2018 as a member of the color guard. We're not related by blood but her mom and dad are my best friends. She's has a wooden rifle in her parents house for more than 5 years and she sometimes goes out into the back yard to practice throws and spins and stuff.

Not that I've seen every show (Don't live in the US anymore) but from the late 80s till now, they seem to be like one of the few that still does?

This is literally the EXACT same marching technique we used at Guardians. Makes sense though, considering half the staff are Vanguard alumni. LOL

Are they bending their legs when they march backwards?? I remember marching backwards,we had to stay up on our toes. When they stop after 8 counts I notice their feet are angled apart creating a "v" look. Is that common in DCI?
@JadonArmon6 жыл бұрын
Don nix The “v” look, or the first position, is very common in DCI, I believe. And yes, they are bending their legs going backwards.
@Nicklobo5626 жыл бұрын
They roll all the way down through the heel on the backwards stride, making the leg straight when the foot is rolled down all the way. I marched bent leg with Pacific Crest this past summer and the backward stride felt very foreign at first.

Nick Lobato Thanks for your input and expertise on that matter!!! My marching career was short lived, four years of high school marching band. Not the age and experience of dci, but we were are perennial BOA grand national finalists, so it was intense as it could be at that level I guess
@JesseHernandez46166 жыл бұрын
They have a different marching technique. Some corps have straight legged technique and then there’s this one too
@nojustno25263 жыл бұрын
they do bent legged marching backwards the feet are supposed to stay parallel while marching and then you close with the v
