I think dci should have to release all the finals tapes to the public just like they do the corps. This really is a public thing and if the judges can give out numbers they should have to justify them. And more importantly the current culture is so elitist. Basically what’s happening is that judges can give a number without having to justify them to the audience and if any member of the “audience” wants to say that they think the judging was unfair or inaccurate they are immediately classified as biased.

@@Dannyhaleperc Right and if people commenting on the scores are biased or wrong we should be able to actually research what we are talking about by listening to the tapes and looking at the sheets

@@jordantyler148 You make a great point, but with anything else there are still going to be biased people who are not happy with the judges assessment. Most of us can agree with the judges and appreciate the difficult decisions they make, even if we don't like what they say. Yet there are still going to people who disagree and hate on the judges, this is unfortunate for all of us who want to listen to the tapes because there is A LOT to be learned.

@@gabefittante2778 I think there is a feigned accuracy to the judging system and for those who can listen to judge tapes with open ears the inconsistencies are shameless. The corps don't spend the season comparing themselves to other groups but we do and judges do all season long and the fact that a single judge can come in for finals and give a nonsensical number like the bluedevils percussion score without having to justify it relative to the other scores they give is insane. This one dude had the power to choose who won the championship even if he didn't know it and there is no system in place to make him justify his score to the public. Basically, the anonymity of judges hurts the activity.

@@MintyChipArt fr their run was literally the best one they had all season Bloo had a dogshit run. Their drill wasn't as clean BD which hurt them but yea BD didn't have a dogshit run lmao there percussion got a 20 finals night but ofc they average the scores from all 3 nights.

Scv definitely had a harder book than BD. the triple laterals alone set the pit book apart and the softer sections in the 2nd movement were so tough and just show a perfect control. There wasn't a single moment in the BD book where I was as impressed as I was during scv's 2nd movement. And the tempo changes and the meter changes marching at 240 while playing that well....

@@Dannyhaleperc this is true but there comes a time you you have to consider risk/reward. Scv may have played harder stuff bud BD was cleaner. There's a reason why scv won content and BD won achievement. Prosperie actually awarded scv for there book being difficult in that aspect
