to come back after a year off and clean house in percussion is absolutely insane. BTW second 6th place group from rennick to receive high drums.

Super clean, super musical and LOVED the old-school visuals... Best line in YEARS!!!

And MINIMAL "monkey-drumming"... A practice that is becoming cliched...

May not be as choppy as BD, but rennick will always have the most satisfying books

I was right next to you, black shirt These guys killed it and have been deserving of the Sanford all year

I like that their bass line actually sounds like a bass line.

I hadn't been following DCI very closely this year, but i took my son to finals for his first show ever last night. When we saw SCV I told him they were the best drumline so far that night and it wasn't even close. They might even win best percussion. Turns out I was right! 😂

I was gonna say it was a travisty if they didn't

I will continue to watch any SCV 24 drumline vid, this is history made and probably Paul's best line and he's had some shredders for sure. The writing, tuning, expression is just on such elite level.

First minute goes so incredibly hard. Insane writing and execution!

The whole group was amazing but I gotta say that the SCV quads were crazy good this year! Maybe the strongest section this year.

I feel bad for boston. They by far have a more difficult book. And are just as clean if not maybe 1 percent less clean. But I'll take 99 percent high difficulty over 100 percent clean basic triplet rolls, tap 5s, etc repeated over and over. It's just not as impressive imo. This these guys even play a flam the entire book? Maybe 2 or 3..
@ronhenderson42402 ай бұрын
I feel bad for them as their show designer turned them into a color guard. The drumline only plays 5.5 minutes of their show and the pit has long gaps where they don't play either
@drewguysound12942 ай бұрын
100% this book is harder regardless of how many triplets there are

Sometimes seeing music executed at a high level makes it seem easy. I don’t feel bad for Boston because they had three nights. SCV is like the Spurs of DCI. Clean is clean.
@ConnerBrown-tq8vx2 ай бұрын
Nice try, but the snare break at 2:08 has around 6 or 7 flams in that single chunk of music alone. Boston getting 4 in content at finals was the right call and they weren’t as clean, sorry you’re so upset. Can you name 3 things that are in Bostons book that wasn’t in Vanguards book this year since Bostons book is “so hard”?

@@SomthingWonderful Spot-on with the Spurs of DCI assessment. Boston is more like the Warriors. Flashier with higher highs but lower lows. Consistency wins. The Spurs never beat themselves like the Warriors did in 2016.
