Probably mx. Ebikes are heavy and easier switchback riding and in corners is better for me than stability. Edit: and it would be shorter, some of these bikes these days are getting so long they dont fit on hitch mount racks.

Do you know what your head angle is? I know the mullet had a different rear than the 29er but do they have a third rear for the small with front and back 27.5? I have a large mullet and tested putting a 27.5 wheel on the front and it seemed good with the head angle steepened by a little over a degree...but I liked it.

I bought the 140mm/140mm Heckler MX, but ended up selling it because it felt like what it was; a 27.5” Heckler with a 29” wheel and fork shoehorned in there, adversely effecting the geometry. These look like Santa Cruz have done it properly and solved the problem I had, but I’m wondering if Connor and/or Zach would buy one?

How would rider height play into your evaluation? Being 6’5, the 27.5 out back feels like it’s unnecessarily small. Santa Cruz doesn’t/hasn’t offered a 27.5 bike in XXL…that must mean something?

I'm in the market for an EMTB and I must say that its really hard to justify an $8750 price tag for the cheapest build on these new Hecklers. I'm a Santa Cruz guy through and through (currently have a Hightower) but an NX drivetrain, Rockshox mid level suspension, and SRAM G2 brakes on a bike that almost cost $9K? Come on Santa Cruz! Would love to stay on a SC bike but the competition is offering consumers much more bang for their buck.

Unfortunately it's not just Santa Cruz. All bikes (not just bikes, but everything) are getting really expensive these days.
@marklopez52672 жыл бұрын
@@bikersedge I get that inflation sucks across the board but that also plays to my point. When you compare the specs on these new Hecklers vs what some of the competition is offering in this price range its hard for a consumer to want to spend more hard earned money for less.

@@marklopez5267 I agree. Santa Cruz has always come at a premium though. It’s tough to see the extra value on the surface (build kit and price) but if you look a little deeper Santa Cruz does make a premium product and back it up with premium service and warranty.

Late to the party.... Great review on the 275 vs 29. I'm not an ebike guy so didn't pick up on anything in that area, if you mentioned it at all. Agree with the findings that the 275 has the edge on quick, punchy climbing, and quick turns. Probably like all bikes, pick the right horse for the right course. Something I think what is missing on all MX reviews is running a relatively larger tire on the back of the 275. I think you retain the quick feeling but gain some additional traction and stability. An equally large tire on a 29 out back, I found was too much of a good thing - felt heavy and cumbersome. Thanks again.
