Who else feels there was a 'mischaracterization' of what transpired? Saying or suggesting that two men got into a 'fist fight' implies it might have been 'mutual combat'. (This is what a shrewd Defense Attorney would promote to get his guilty client off the hook.) If someone 'sucker punches' somebody who wasn't aggressive, I'd call that 'Assault & Battery'.

whether you want to believe it or not, a bar is primarily for taking money from you. I knew a coworker who was eighteen and she would get drunk on a regular basis at a bunch of different bars. They would make the rounds with her friends. When they did ask for identification she gave her mother identification, then they would look at it without checking the photograph. This is how they obtained alcohol from all these places. This was openly talked about at a large company I worked for. They all knew a way to get away with it.

This is a bar! Where people get drunk and with liquid courage do things they normally wouldn’t do! For people to say there hasn’t been a fight at this bar is a fairytale!
