Another bus ride!! Beautiful church. So funny that such a plain outside hides such a special interior. Is the blue box indicating that the person was alive the replacement for the halo you would get if you were dead? This particular video was very meditative. Perfect for Holy Week viewing.

Thank you. The bus ride adds to the adventure. :) Pope Paschal is a Saint, so they could have replaced it with an actual halo. There are a few other people with the blue box who are not Saints.

Amazing video. Thank you. In 2017 I visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and I remember seeing what I thought was the pillar of the scourging. It did not look like this one. Was I wrong?

As sometimes happens with relics, there are several places who claim to have it. While the Holy Land has all the sites, most all relics have been removed. So it’s much more likely that the true pillar made it to Rome.
