It was a powerful time for Santana. Shango came out after Zebop! As well as his solo Havana Moon 🌙 ✨ album. What a list of material. This concert reflects that time, with wonderful audio recording of it. Thank you EpicConcerts. If you enjoyed this there is a FAR better recorded show just 5 days later in Tokyo. This one was a soundboard recording and while clean, lacks ambience and is rather dull. The one on the 15th was an FM broadcast and is crystal clear, the date of that one is the 15th at Nakano Sun Plaza, Toyko Japan, look it up!

I don't know who's on synthesizer on Super Boogie, Tom Coster or Chester Thompson, but, omg, one of the hottest keyboard solos I've ever heard! Jan Hammer anyone?! And Keith Jones' solo on that track is great too, besides the rest of his playing. What a band. Santana Supreme And, of course, Carlos is off the hook! At this show.

So cool opening the show with the third album. They don't play Taboo enough, awesome. He had started using the PRS guitar 🎸 on Zebop! But, as shown here, he still pulled out the Yamaha SG 2000 sometimes live. When ever you hear the whammy bar, Open Invitation and She's Not There, you know it's the PRS. It's a little brighter sounding too.
