Wow...! This is one of my favourites from Santana. The first time I saw Santana play was 1978 at the Manchester Apollo, England. I was blown away. I have seen them play several times since.

This was a special situation. November, 1989. Santana played for free. The concert (promoted by Bill Graham) was referred to as “Earthquake Relief”, some weeks after the 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake that shake California (October, 1989). I assume they used the high-school football field because the other big places were still restricted. I worked for HP (I’m retired now) and was in California (Silicon Valley) until less than 48 hours before the earthquake. You find the full Santana concert (which is very good) here in KZbin.

STUPENDOUS!!! - I was 21 years old back in 1969 when, like millions of others, I discovered Santana in the movie of Woodstock. For me they were the absolute Highlight of the whole shebang! - Instant Fan! Now at the age of 75 (a few months younger than Carlos) I own just about every album that Carlos has contributed to and I'm collecting still - in fact I've just taken delivery of a double CD "Jungle Strut - Live in Europe 1971" - Great Stuff! I've seen the band live dozens of times over the decades and in 1979 I had the supreme good fortune to interview Carlos for the BBC. Of course I took the opportunity to get my LPs autographed and we got on like the proverbial "house on fire". They say "Beware! your Idols may have feet of clay" - Not a bit of it!! I may not be the #1 Fan but hopefully I make the Top Ten! LOL.
