Im 19 and Cuban on my dads side. Im a witch and my family told me that my dads family practices Santeria. Because Santeria is mostly passed down by family, i really want to learn about it and my history. Im probably the only witch in my family here, my moms family is very christian and they dont approve. I always felt called towards the paranormal and mysterious, i think its because i have the blood in me. I want to carry this belief through my family and keep it alive in my culture.

@@Tom-lc9ni my two cents Tom. Learn what you wish. Theres, Santeria, Palo Mayombe, Haitian vodou, Dominican 21 Divisions, Puerto Rican Sanse, Jamaican Obeah, Venezuelan Maria Lionza, etc... But before all of this stuff, your ancestors(Egun)/Espiritismo COME FIRST. Elevate yourself in THIS, connecting with your spirit guides (muertos), and elevating THOSE spirits before diving into initiation into any other tradition. Egun and Espiritismo is something your born with. No initiations. (Although there ARE ceremonies within these) but on the whole you can and should honor your muertos before any orisha/mpungo/misterio etc... But im a guy that loves knowledge too so yeah man learn what you can about santeria(la regla de ocha) if you feel drawn to it, just remember your egun come first. And some people have muertos who were Wiccan witches, vikings, Hindus, Orientals. Catholic priestsand nuns, sages, all walks of life, so don't knock the traditions of old eauropean or otherwise 😉😇 Ache pa ti. And love from New Jersey, 🇺🇸 you Aussie from down under 🇦🇺 😇
