spent two weeks there on my honey...I cant recommend it enough. Rooms are incredible, service is great and the breakfast is fantastic! Nothing better then gorging yourself and then laying on the beach with a cocktail and a good book.

save your money and stay at one of the simpler places with far better local food like Activities Resort near the Mangrove Forest on the Southwest side of the island. Go to Laem Nok Ok beach and enjoy the solitude, buy fresh fish from the local markets and take it to a restaurant for them to cook it for you. if you stay in a place like this you will entirely miss out on authentic experiences. rent a bike or motorcycle to get around....

Again thank you, it seems like its Thailand of 10-15 yrs ago, is it expensive in the restaurants if you go B&B, certainly looks like a resort to charge the batteries, keep well and thanks again

The best feel about this place is the balcony of room overlooking the ocean - nice just standing there soaking it all in. Very good hotel. I had free brekkie in morning and room service dinner (often a liquid lunch)... prices are in line with Thai 5 star joints - about $20 USD for a main course dinner. I often have breakfast late so suffice with 2 meals a day, prices reasonable though. ;-)

Holy baloney! This sure looks like some decent luxury resort! In contrary to what my feelings were about the Hilton Phuket Arcadia, I find, from what I can see, this place deserves more than 5 stars :) One question though: How did you feel about the mountainous lay out of the terrain? Did you experience it as much of a burden? How would it feel to be there for 8 days with all the climbing or taking a 'jeep'? I was absolutely mesmerized by all the wood adornments (and by the lavish use of wood and bamboo in general -- hope it was harvested sustainably:)). Yours, Hajo

+Hajo Theunissen Is a nice place. The mountainous layout - gives great views, and the hotel mitigate with the jeeps. Not nice walking round in the heat - it is really hot. The mountainous layout such is fine. If you ask me in 30 years, I might give you a different answer. These days hilly walking, good to lose weight after the good food. 8 days, like the ppl I spoke to - depends how one travels. I was in Phuket area for 3 nights and 3 different hotels. My last vacation in UAE - for 7 nights and 7 different hotels. Like doctors, doing a ward round in 2 hours - one day per hotel fine for me. Other ppl like to chill out - I'd get bored. The hotel is nice... there is a Six Senses hotel on Koh Yao Yai Island also - at time of booking Six Senses was 1300 USD a night, this place 300 USD a night or so. I didn't manage to check out Six Senses, but is a nice hotel and nice part of the world... As ever Raj

+Hajo Theunissen Yah - travelling with young family, moving places every day is a hassle - packing/checking in and out/waiting for transport etc... One actually gets more out a place staying 2-3 nights at a hotel - local tours/watersports, rather than 1 night just to see the place and maybe a dip in the pool...

+MrKesavaraj True! Although I often traveled alone for longer periods and then too liked to 'take residence' at certain places just to 'get zen'. To kind of empty the head. For me that works when staying somewhere a bit longer, for you it's maybe the opposite. It doesn't even matter, as long as one enjoys it, no? And we get to see tons of very cool videos!
