Santigold is the originator of everything cool and unique. I remember getting into her music and also M.I.A.'s music around 2007. Definitely shifted my whole musical taste for the better.

Age might have to do with it too, which is confusing to me because she looks like she might be in her early 30s at 45. But the industry is overly concentrated and inundated with the newer and younger stars. There's just so much new talent, they don't want to risk it with older artists, especially when they had their peak in popularity starting out which is the case with most musicians. Not saying Santi reached her peak musically, but popularity wise with the crowds of today, it's unfortunately come and gone.

I don't care about Beyonce's twins, I didn't even know she had twins, but at the same time, you cannot possibly say that someone's children are overrated, even though they probably are. There's likely an inordinate amount of interest in them as if they were more special or interesting than other people's kids, and they're just human babies. In a media sense, anything associated with Beyonce is overrated, in the sense of being inflated out of proportion to it's value. Beyonce herself is overrated, because she is treated as more exceptional than she is when she is a good but extremely normal pop star making very ordinary music. Santigold, on the other hand, is someone making original and interesting music who is not surrounded by so much ridiculous hype.
