Great video on an important topic. I am a watch enthusiast, following are a few rules which I feel everyone should follow. Rule 1 Buy watches from only watch brands like Casio and Timex. Avoid watches from fashion watch brands like Diesel, Armani etc. Fashion brands make funky watches but very poor quality most of the fashion brands do not have their own manufacturing facility. The price-to-quality ratio is poor in fashion watches. After a few years, a 10000 rupee Diesal watch will become garbage but the Casio's, and Timex's will last a life long. Rule 2 Always look at lug size and shape. Replacement watch straps are available for standard-sized like 20mm lug width. Some watches have weird lug widths. Rule 3 If you are buying an expensive watch then see what are you paying for, Is the watch solar-powered ? , What is the water resistance level? What is the Glass of the dial? Mineral glass is usually used for low cost but go for Sapphire glass as it is scratch resistant and looks premium. I couldn't find a sapphire crystal watch with solar power from fashion brands whereas Casio, Timex Etc are making these available at relatively low prices. Rule 4 In case you are buying a Quartz watch ( Watch with Cells ), look for battery life as once the watch is opened for battery replacement its water resistance capacity becomes doubtful. There are watches with 10-year Battery life and 1-year battery life on the market. Rule 5 Never pay for the name of the brand rather pay for the quality of the watch. Rule 6 If buying a black watch go fo ion plated dials, most of the black watches get scratched and look bad after some time. The ion-plated black watch remains new for a much longer time. Rule 7 Go for classic timeless designs they will look good forever. You will get bored by the look of funky watches. Rule 8 Buy a watch will stainless steel dial, chain and back. Some watches have only stainless steel back, but the dial is made of alloy with stainless steel plating. Don't pay much for those watches.
