I put it to the test and I was definitely pleased with this purchase! They didn't make left hand baitcasters back in the day when I was little and got my first baitcasters. Guess I was 8 years old and had a ambassador 5000 until Shimano hit the market. The old Bantam 100 and 1000. Great reels in thier time

James Barron i find that funny as i am right handed but like a left hand retrieve. Its pretty bad when someone hands me a right hand retrieve and i start grabbing for the left side LOL
