There’s something wrong with the governor. He hates road maintenance with a highly populated state with huge numbers plying the roads daily but does things mostly for media hype without addressing real issues. The brand new cars he’s buying will be destroyed by the same roads he has refused to maintain. Ikorodu, Isolo lcda have the worst roads in lagos and you wonder how fashola government was able to do year round maintenance of same roads throughout his tenure and didn’t abandon us to suffer

While electric cars are good to reduce emissions , noise, and save costs in place of petrol prices rising every time. It’s however sad to see the total neglect of road maintenance all over lagos by the same governor forming development. State roads all over lagos are in a terrible state and an emergency needs to be declared for lagos roads despite the huge revenue government is collecting daily. It’s a shame for lagos roads to be like this despite a smaller landmass and huge population trafficking majorly on the roads with serious traffic bottlenecks

Ivory Coast Ambassador just came to innoson plant at Nnewi Anambra state for the purchase of Nigerian made vehicles. Innoson can easily make an electric car but what electricity will the buyers use to power it. building infrastructure is the first step for ev implementation. Even tesla is struggling in United States of America. Common sense has left the room I presume.

All roads in Lagos are in a big mess, refuse everywhere in Lagos..Never seen lagos in a big mess like this since the Legendary Raji Fashola left office. It’s a shame what’s happening despite all the tax income generated by this state..

@@Ari-nq7hz , your observation is very apt . The last governor that served lagos was fashola who made road maintenance and construction a major priority of his tenure, the reason we can never forget him. He also moved around the state quietly a lot to inspect projects himself. Sanwo is largely living with media hype and not really providing service. But the APC chieftains chopping money with him see nothing wrong in the present system where service to the people has been abandoned. He’s launching brand new cars that’ll be destroyed by bad roads he has refused to maintain

@@michaelraimi1377 Well the technology is yet to become mainstream even though countries like China (who is behind these ones) who also seems to be in the front of the move to electric subsidizes most of the electric vehicles they sell home and abroad, they’ve overtaken TESLA sef in sales with that subsidy move. That N20m-N30m is still expensive for the Nigerian market though, as you’ve pointed out. Converting your old petrol engine to electric may be the way forward, as one Swedish company called OPIBUS is already doing in Kenya, with plans to enter other African countries. The company does motorcycles to buses electric conversions, they even sell the conversion kits, so let’s wait and see.

Electric vehicles are charged with electricity, that means charging stations must be connected to the national power grid. Unfortunately in Nigeria electricity is very unreliable. America and Europe have reliable power supply but are abandoning electric cars because of it being a huge inconvenience. I wish Nigerians that will buy good luck.
