Thank you! Their bond is clearly ment to be of the found family type. You can tell by comparing their pasts. The theme of family is in both. Isaac was abandoned by his family and Rachel was abused by her's.

im sorry but someone needs to say it *SPOILERS* at the end rachel was seeing illusions so she is not with zack she jumps off the building the day zack is getting executed so its not a good end we are never going to get a 2. season.

Actuallyyyy in the light novel series (written by the creator himself) it is CANON that the police never found a trace of either Zack or Ray. The window was busted, including the safety bars (Ray would not be able to do that with that little knife) and there was glass scattered inward, which indicates it was broken from the outside~ Now, whether he took her somewhere else and killed her, who's to say, but either way he was there and he took her. The anime might get an OVA but I doubt it'll cover what happened to them after because the creator would rather leave it to the audiences' interpretation (Booo!), but who knows. In anycase, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that they lived on, including some canon concept art of them in different outfits (and I don't mean the AU stuff). That is to say, I am a fan of the theory that him being there was all in Ray's head as she killed herself because that's poetically dark and sad (Plus NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO NOTICE THAT THE ENDING OF THE ANIME TOTALLY LINES UP WITH 'DON'T FEAR THE REAPER' BY BLUE OYSTER CULT but I digress), but it is not my favorite theory and it is not what I think is canon~ Buuuut that's just my two cents. :3
