राजस्थान हाईकोर्ट के न्यायाधीश अरुण मोंगा ने संत पोमजी महाराज की पत्नी सत्तु बाई के हत्यारों की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर सिरोही में हुए जन आंदोलन में पुलिस द्वारा दर्ज किए गए मामले में पूर्व विधायक संयम लोढ़ा और अन्य की गिरफ्तारी पर रोक लगा दी है। लोढ़ा और अन्य लोगों ने हाईकोर्ट में मामले को झूठा बताते हुए एफआईआर निरस्त करने की याचिका दायर की है। याचिकाकर्ताओं को पुलिस जांच में सहयोग करने के लिए कहा गया है। वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता एमएस सिंघवी ने बताया है कि यह मामला राजनीतिक द्वेषवश दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस ने अपने अधिकारों का दुरुपयोग किया है। आंदोलन विधिवत अनुमति लेकर किया जा रहा था, लेकिन पुलिस ने आंदोलन को दबाने के लिए झूठे आधार बनाकर बिना किसी साक्ष्य के मामला दर्ज कर लिया। हाईकोर्ट ने इस मामले को लेकर राज्य सरकार को नोटिस जारी किया है।
In a recent development, Rajasthan High Court judge Arun Monga has halted the arrest of former MLA Sanyam Lodha and others in a case registered by the police during a public movement in Sirohi, demanding the arrest of the killers of Saint Pomji Maharaj's wife, Sattu Bai. Lodha and others have petitioned the High Court to quash the FIR, claiming it to be false. The petitioners have been asked to cooperate with the police investigation.
Senior advocate MS Singhvi stated that the case was registered due to political vendetta and alleged misuse of police authority. Despite the movement being legally permitted, the police allegedly filed a false case without any evidence to suppress it. The High Court has issued a notice to the state government regarding this matter.
The petition mentioned that Lodha served as an MLA from the Sirohi constituency for 15 years, was honored with the Best Legislator Award in the Rajasthan Assembly for 2020-21, and served as the secretary of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Rajasthan unit. It claimed that the case was filed with political malice to harm him. The protest, approved by the administration, was held on June 28 to submit a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police and the District Collector regarding Sattu Bai's murder two months ago. However, the police secretly filed a false case against Lodha and Indian National Congress leaders Nargis Kayamkhani, Komal Parihar, Tejaram Hiragar, and Rajendra alias Rajaram Meghwal under various sections including 103, 353, 427, 505, and the Public Property Damage Act, section 3.
