Love the tone, how do you set up your hight and action to get the grind of the strings on the frets without it ringing out too long? I've been struggling with that but your setup is so perfect, please tell me your secrets my friend!

Glad you liked my sound 🙈 hm... Set up is usually equilibrium between hard you hit and how comfortable is your left hand so there isn’t really a standard height, also overdrive, fresh string, thin pick plays a part of it as well 🙈🙈

@@RufusMann very true, technique will always trump gear and setup! I'm still learning how to be more conscious and mindful of my technique as well as feel with hitting muting and fretting notes. Hi, I play a 5-string non fan-fretted jazz bass, recently I've been looking into buying a Dingwall Z2, do the fanned frets feel weird? Do I have to get used to it?

hm... just like any new bass you get... it takes some time to get use to imo. based on experience, z2 might take more time to get used to if you are a finger style player because the middle pickup might not be the most comfortable for thumb placemenet (at least for me), but yea it really depends on the person... some might get used to it in 5-10mins and some might take a few days 👍
