I prefer the levels on this EP. It’s more aligned with their sound from their debut album. You can hear Alex’s cymbals better. To me these versions are superior to the final versions on the album that followed. The vocal writing is also better on this EP.

But there are three extra songs with Anthony Green not in the EP: I can Tell There Was An Accident Here Earlier Mookie's Last Christmas I have Become What I've Always Hated (this is not a Saosin song technically speaking since only two members of the band recorded this)

I remember hearing this when it first came out and being so pumped for the new album! and then being so dissapointed when In search of solid ground came out sounding so over produced and stripped back for a radio friendly sound, these original versions are amazing!

Saosin should have self produced everything. All demos sounds better. The hired producers always tried to remove the raw emotional vocals and sounds. It makes me sad

The change in direction from this to "In Search of Solid Ground" was so confounding and disappointing.
