Sir how to reschedule scheduled background job with another user and to another time??

Goto SM37 Define criteria-- select job goto 1st job menu --> reschedule-->time condition give your required time and save it --> goto to step--> change processor save

What happened if we cancelled a job from SM37. I scheduled a CO88 in background and when the job is active I cancelled it. What is the impact.

If you have cancelled active job then it will cancell the current active instance of job. If its a periodic job then will execute on next schedule time

On the other hand if you cancelled or delete schedule job, then job will be deleted from database hence no longer will run automagically or periodically

Thanks for your reply. In case, I hv executed one tcode through background run and it is final settlement of process orders (CO88). I stopped and cancelled it through SM37. Is there any order settled as I cancelled it after sometime of execution of tcode before completion of job.

You can check Job log to check if any order settlement is done or not.

Background jobs are used to reduce manual effort and to automate the process. Will be useful when you want to run any reports periodically.

For example , you have created a report to transfer purchase order invoice pdf to ftp server and you want to execute this report/program every hour. executing program manually every next hour would be headache. So will create one background job which executes this program hourly on hourly basis. This will reduce manual efforts to execute it manually. This is how we use background jobs.
