This same thing is on BTP, visuall studio.....dont why this complexity is needed. And everythimg cant be in sap gui, and gui copatible with mobile apps.

I share your sentiment. The evolution of SAP products is going in a direction that tries to leverage open standards and compliance and interoperability with "modern" ways of doing things. However, at its core, the ABAP platform provides a unique foundation whose advantages should be built on and exposed to customers. The open source abap2UI5 project takes the creation of UIs in a better direction.

Very excited to use this feature in my upcoming project. But the challenge is to the setup the destination and connectivity. I have gone through the Blog and also the SAP Help Documentation. Even after setting up the destinations, I am unable to connect to HANA DB. The Add-on is giving error that space and org is not setup. Though there is only one space and org. Any notes or troubleshooting guideline will be of immense help for destination set-up and testing. Video kzbin.info/www/bejne/pauren56gcRsfbsfeature=shared&t=285 duration (4:45 - 6:30) part is not working for me.
