I think the staff did not explain it correctly, I think what they meant was no foreign credit card for complementary entry. But for paid entry I have never heard any Indonesian EDC machine that did not accept foreign cards. Even outside Jakarta, I have seen tourists credit cards accepted in shopping venues.
