I presume, that without language very limited thought is possible .But when thought is channelized through language obviously then language influences the way we think because it enlarges our canvas and gives an extensive approach of the world. 1) If a child is brought up in an isolation with out any language he/she can at least express their pain, pleasure, likes and dislikes. 2) A person with limited understanding of a language has not made any discovery or innovation bkz language is limited that's thinking capacity too.

I think thought is primary and it is the thought/brain that affects our language structures. If we have a weak brain or non-working brain or damaged brain we won't be able to think talk or create any theory or philosophy. Yes only thought is not important language has it role in looking and explaining the eorlx view but that too under the directions oc thought.

I think thought and language both are important but your thoughts influence your language for example if there is a glass of water which is half filled some people says half filled glass of water some says half empty so it's your cognitive processes who helps you to progenitor of language.

I think language determine our thoughts For example,if we will put some people of same languages in one and then put other group of same language in another place and gave them a task to do for coming out of that place.then we will see both will think according to their experinces and experince is based on your language

If I say that 'naya Pakistan ' was something that determines our thoughts ... So it would serve as language determinism and if I quote the example of language relativity as a crying child and it's adherence to his mother ... So are these examples satisfying ?

Sir I have a question here ... If many philosophers or linguists favours language relativity then why it is still considered as a weak version ? And can you put some examples for both of the principles ?
@hopenotoutandbepositive3331
@hopenotoutandbepositive3331 2 жыл бұрын
necessary to clarify that the words "strong" and "weak" are not related to the strength of the scholarly argumentation, but rather to the degree to which language is assumed to influence our thought and behaviour.

The strong or weak version of this hypothesis is not determined by the people. It is just a relationship of language and thought driven from the works of Edward Sapir and Benjamin Whorf, with one strong and other weak claim. Now others have rejected the stronger claim of hypothesis but weaker one is accepted till today.
