Sapling growing experiment in extreme conditions

In this experiment, we subjected the young saplings to extreme growing conditions. They were positioned in the most intense sun possible here in Raleigh, NC without any shade and without any care of any kind, including supplemental water. The only water they received was rain water. Growing conditions were BRUTAL. But look how many still grew! it's remarkable.
