Did he forget to remove the feed tray cover ? SLC s website says there is 7 items : cover assembly(item 6) and receiver assembly( item 7) . Or do they stay attached and count as 2 items ?

Interesting. I think it would b wise for a young soldier to repeat this procedure to the point of over learning, and then some. In the field in combat, it would seem that knowing how to do the procedure in the dark, rain, and mud would be easier with exaggerated practice time.
