The Arima to Blanchisseuse Road that winds its way around the mountains of the Northern Range gives access to numerpus beautiful waterfalls, gorges and hiking destinations.
The Sapphire Waterfall is the perfect little gem that is hidden just beyond your eyes.
The hike is simple so children could vist this falls. To get to the starting point is tricky as there are no signs and its based on someone having knowledge from previous visits.
You simply park in the area created by years of pepole parking and traversing the area. Walk down to the river, cross it, follow a tributary for five to ten minutes and you turn a right and there it is...sapphire waterfall.
For a small waterfall the plunge pool is very deep so that the adventorous could jump from the various ledges into the pool, but make sure to jump away from the fall itself.
You'll need life vests, especially if you are carrying children. Its recommended for adults as well if you plan on climbing or jumping into the pool.
