Sagauli treaty in 1816 , demarcated the boundary between Nepal and British India . Nepal , at that time , was an expansionist power and so were the Britishers. Nepal was keen in extending its political boundaries. On western front , It bordered with Sikh empire. Britishers, after many decades of fighting, were not concerned with extending territories in Nepal and also they thought Nepal is not of much importance and they have realised how braves are NEPALI Grukhas. So treaty was signed as non offensive. Since then, British ne Gurkhas ko unki veerta ke liye Bhartiya sena me lena shuru kar diya , jo aaj tak orachalan me hai. Sagauli is very nice place. ❣️
