Side A timeline is 2010-2011, side B timeline is 2021. They shot the first part and before the 2nd part shooting, there was a 3 month gap for rakshit shetty to put on wait. During this time Hemanth rao completed the writing for side B and since there was a pandemic hit by then, he included those elements in the movie. He mentioned those elements gave weight to his story.

The shift in the movie is brilliantly written and filmed, from beauty to brutal. Wow! It has a deep haunting element which stays stuck with us for a long time even after we're done watching the movie.

Great job guys! Please cover more Kannada movies. You can start with Rangitaranga, Kantara, Ulidavaru Kandante, 777 Charlie , Lucia, U-turn, Ugram, Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, Gantumoote, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha vahana and then take it from there!(these are from 2013, last 10 years) Prithvi, Milana, Mungaru Male, Paramathma, Gaalipata are some movies before 2012

Hey there, Kathy! ….subscribed to your and Amit’s channels after seeing the group review of SSE Side A on Melanie’s channel. Very much appreciated your mention of Midnight Express in that review as there are some parallels with that movie (the gay coding of the prison villains for one). Not going to rehash the issue here but that unfortunate screenwriting shorthand snapped me out of the movie momentarily. However, other than that issue and the pacing that Melanie mentioned, I thought Side A was a fantastic film. Very excited for Side B. Btw…you might be able to watch Side B in the theater! On Reddit I bemoaned not being able to see Side A and was informed that it got a U.S. on the same weekend. I checked and sure enough SSE Side A had played here (New Orleans) …but only for that weekend, so I missed it. Regardless it was only (I think) a 5 or 6 week delay before it made it to Prime 🙃
