@RyanFRails7 жыл бұрын
SomeLittleShoe it’s not that Iowa can’t tackle. They played a great defensive game against PSU this year- Barkley’s just that good
@RyanFRails7 жыл бұрын
SomeLittleShoe doesn’t mean that they’re bad. Their football team is usually pretty good at home against AP Top 5 teams. Back in 2008, they upset no. 3 Penn State at home, they upset no. 5 Michigan State at home in 2010, and then last season they upset no. 3 Michigan. So they know how to beat Top 5 teams when they’re not ranked because they’ve done it several times before.

i am not sure i have ever seen another 233 lb rb jump cut like that at 5:08 my lord. As a fb fan i noticed his OL wasnt even good and he did that. I think the only guy i could compare this much natural talent at RB is Bo Jackson perhaps. I am not sure people realize how absurd this guy is i dont even know what to say about the run at 5:34. Stop on dime, power, balance, vision and speed.

He is a great player, but with a 40 touch game I can't help but think of players like Marcus Lattimore who were run into to the ground before they had a chance to cash in.
@cvbucks047 жыл бұрын
He averaged 16 touches per through the first 3 games this year so they're not running him into the ground but I see what youre saying
@thadcampbell46197 жыл бұрын
Zack Hurwitz Games like these are exactly why they didn't give him the ball a lot the first 3 games, they need him in big games & he knows this. Guarantee this week against Indiana he'll go back to 15-20 touches.
@zackhurwitz48397 жыл бұрын
If that is indeed the plan it isn't a good one, if he has to touch the ball 40 times against an unranked Iowa team (who'm they squeaked by), how many times do you think he will have to touch the ball against Ohio Sate and Michigan? This should be the time other players on Penn State's offense are allowed to grow within the system and build confidence, this will help Barkley and the entire team in the long run. What Penn State showed in this game is that they are basically a one man show on offense. When all else fails hand it to Saquon Barkley.
@thadcampbell46197 жыл бұрын
Zack Hurwitz Iowa is an elite team at home I mean it's a known fact just look thru all the ranked teams they've beaten throughout the years. Penn State is far from a 1 man team it's just McSorley had a bad day. Gesicki might be the best TE in the country, they have a really good recieving corp with Johnson, Thompkins, Hamilton, Blacknall, & Polk. It all comes down to McSorley & that game he was just off but imo it says a lot about Penn State that they won that game the way they did when there QB was terrible all game.
@zackhurwitz48397 жыл бұрын
Those are very good points, but you have to be aware of his touches if your the HC or OC. Say McSorley plays poorly again and they have to lean on Saquon again and again. Iowa might not be able to, but Ohio Sate and Michigan will be able to take him away if he is the only threat that shows up for those games. The solution isn't complicated, there is no rule against handing the ball to another back.

Nate Corry Nate, I and every dyed in the wool"blue blood" hope he still stays for next year. However, things remain to be seen like that. I'm sure you'd like to see him grace Beaver stadium next year. It would only raise his NFL prospects. However, the right here, right now is he's THE only rb worth even mentioning when "Heisman" is talked of. And I thank our lucky stars we got him, because he could have been a Scarlet Knight, o, perish the thought.

Joe Jones yea cause reggie can’t be in the same conversation as saquon
@MrSPIDEY217 жыл бұрын
Joe Jones as an NFL prospect he's better. Bigger stronger similar speed if not faster. Reggie had a great college career and had a lot of highlights. As did tim tebow maybe the greatest NCAA qb of all time. But Vince was better. Saquon can do everything a running back may be asked of on an elite level and be on the field all times when Reggie has to be used as a weapon because he is limited. Injury prone, not as good between the tackles.
@O-Heyguys7 жыл бұрын
Good player, but think about a couple of things here. He has 40 touches in this game. Any reasonable person can assume that a player getting 40 touches is going to put up pretty good numbers by default. I think the jury is still very much out on him because the competition hasn't exactly been stellar to this point. Good thing they award the Heisman at the end of the season...
@harrydouglas96177 жыл бұрын
mr75204 what? lol when this guy was a freshman he absolutely gashed an Ohio state defense that was full of nfl players. He's the real deal
@O-Heyguys7 жыл бұрын
I'm just saying before you award the trophy we should probably play an entire season. If Penn St. lays an egg a couple of games this season then the conversation will certainly be about someone else.
@joeycarbone95407 жыл бұрын
40 touches is too much. Its not realistic in any way against anyone better than a poor iowa team.
@jrsmith123207 жыл бұрын
I mean he only got 40 touches though because Iowa was doing nothing but covering the big pass plays. Why wouldn't you give the ball to the best back in college football if that's the case? Also, yea you expect reasonably good numbers with 40 touches, but lets also note that he's getting all these touches from the gun, with an offensive line that, although better than last year, is still somewhat suspect.
