Seth, I’m so glad you pointed out that many times the receivers aren’t open, causing Jalen to either hold on to the ball too long or run it! Whichever he chooses to do in those situations, he gets criticism. It’s simple math! If Jalen had 2.3 seconds to get rid of the ball, and the receivers aren’t open running routes that take 3.2+ seconds to develop, that math ain’t mathing!

Im about to start a petition to have Seth come in and be at the very least a defensive consultant! Seth if we get you to a certain amount of likes or subs would u consider reaching out to the team for that position? I'm so serious.

To answer your question how is Jalen supposed to know barkley is open. Well if I’m looking right and I see the coverage indicates the flat is open… Assuming that he knows the play he shouldn’t have to see barkley based off coverage he should know…
@FineWineFletch8 күн бұрын
True... BUT...the operative part of that question is the part where he sees AJ wide open to his left. Nobody near him for 10 yards. That's automatic. I get your point though. If AJ wasn't wide open there, then what you said comes into play 100%. If he waited to anticipate saquon being open, that meant he'd have the ball in his hands longer than 3 seconds which would add to the argument of him holding onto the ball too long and ppl wouldve said oh he had aj wide open. It's almost like he can't win for losing.

Your wrong he's the 4th read since you can't understand!!! By the time he gets thru 2nd and 3rd option he's either sacked running or fumbling especially the way the center and guards have been playing so far

You're talking like you're playing Madden. I'm not happy with Jalen but that looked like a blown coverage. He legit missed Devonta but the Barkley one is not a gimme.

@@b.e.r.nnetwork8251 hey I hope you watching Matt Staff tonight. He literally has his back turned and whips his hips and head and throws dots!!! Like I said if u know the play and u recognize coverage u should be able to throw the ball blind!!!!!

Thank you Seth and Marcus! It was informative last week I saw you, Chris Long, and Greg Cosell all adamant that the Eagles would beat the Giants. This week is a step in the right direction show me game they “should” win which I agree. Hopefully Marcus is right and Vic having two new players between DeJean and maybe Sydney Brown playing his twin brother will get to see another week of an aggressive defense and will see some turnovers created!

Been saying this since Jalen first year in the league I think he needs lasik. Not tryna be funny he just always looks to be squinting or starting at one area too Long

I think Jalen has proven that it takes him a full season to fully grasp the nuances of a new offense. The last time he had a second season in an offense, he was an MVP candidate and took us to the Super Bowl. He'll get it in time.

Usually, the running back wheel is the first read in that mesh play, but there is an alert for AJ Brown route if Hurts likes the matchup.
@scubasteev8 күн бұрын
But the biggest long term criticism of jalen is that " he can't read defenses". How many times did he check to RB protection to move the RB because he saw where pressure was coming from ? I think the problem is that's their answer instead of having the RB slip past and turn around right quick. That's how you beat a blitz.

Hey coach Seth.. I’m still concerned about the first scripted plays for the 1st quarter.. what could be the issue?
@jerrygarcia60818 күн бұрын
Thank you Seth, I love Devonte but he rounds of his routes a lot of times instead of cutting in front of the DBacks.

A 3 step drop from the under center has the same timing as a 1 step drop in shotgun.
@scubasteev8 күн бұрын
In that particular play...saquan was probably the dump off man if pressured. By the time he put his hand up...even if jalen saw him...a safety was on his way...by the time jalen set his feet to throw that direction...it probably would have been incomplete at best

@b.e.r.nnetwork82518 күн бұрын
Im not happy with Jalen at all and its like he's regressed and sometimes the play is all curls but what a lot of people dont understand about progressions is that it's about what the defense gives you as well. For the play where he "missed" Saquon if the giants were in cover 4 then the progression would've changed. A defense can dictate a progression as well.
@russelstrings99788 күн бұрын
Smith was wide open on a crosser Hurts saw him and didn’t pull the trigger!!!
@sscaltri7 күн бұрын
Why would the first progression be to the WR running the longest route…Of course he may not be open first and the QB can’t wait on it.

51:21 - talk about "the fans will turn on you" ... Giants fans out front of MetLife burning #26 jerseys, they're not really mad at Saquon, they're mad that Saquon isn't on their team anymore... and since they can't take their anger out on the GM and owner, they turn their animosity towards the player that went to the division rival because the Giants front office didn't step up

I love your take Seth but the coaches been feeding saquon he had over 20 run attempts in the first 2 games nd I believe the New Orleans game I’m not sure. They definitely feed saquon it was our injuries holding us back. We healthy now we Rey dominate

Maybe he saw what would develop a second further into the play as it unfolds. This is something a good qb may see but an armchair qb will never understand.

JALEN HAS BAD POCKET PRESENCE..... IT IS LIKE A JV FOOTBALL QB. HE CANT STAND TALL AND STEP UP IN THE POCKET. HE CANT MANIPULATE AND SET UP BLOCKS FOR HIS LINE. HE HAS ENOUGH SNAPS TO JUDGE THIS. HE IS AN RPO QB. HE NEEDS TO USE HIS LEGS OR HES USELESS.
