Barkley's career has been wasted on the Giants, that's true. It's also true that the Giants didn't need to invest in him again while the rest of the team is still utter garbage. It sucks for them that he ended up on a SB contending team in the NFC East, but this Giants franchise has to move onto a new chapter and create a better foundation than what they have now. Moving off of Daniel Jones and getting better on the LOS is where to start

Barkley had 22 runs for 95 yards. How many lower drafted and lower paid RBs matched or outperformed him in Week 2? Less attempts hit around 95, the same attempts hit in the 120’s. That why you don’t overpay him.

The reason Barkley can't help the Giants is because they are such a lousy team. They have the worst QB1 in the NFL bar none. They have no pass rush. They can't stop the run. Barkley made the right call leaving this band of losers under Shoen/Daboll, to go elsewhere to chase the postseason. He is a stud, he is in his prime three years shy of thirty, he is fourth in rushing, second in TD's, fourth in total yards. He will have a monster season in Philly and go to the playoffs. Maybe the Giants don't NEED him, but he DEFINITELY doesn't need to play on this lousy team another season. He gave this team his blood and guts and for what?? So he could play on a team going absolutely nowhere??? Barkley made the absolute right call bailing on Shoen and his penny pinching. He gives the worst QB in football $160 mil and $141 mil to some guy named Brian Burns who no one has seen since he arrived.

Not a Giants fan but at this point assuming they don't have to give up much in a trade it's probably worth a shot. No guarantee the next QB they draft will develop well either. As we see year after year the failure rate on QBs via draft is fairly high.
