Dear MRI Community,
We all know that MRI is an imaging modality that has revolutionized the field of diagnostics. However, it's crucial to ensure patient safety during the MRI procedure, and SAR reduction plays a pivotal role in achieving this objective. In this video, we discover the art of optimising MR parameters to minimise the 𝑺𝑨𝑹 and avoid potential conflicts during the examination. You will learn how adjusting flip angle, repetition time (TR), and the number of slices can effectively reduce SAR levels while maintaining image quality. Don't miss out on this concise guide to maximizing patient safety and diagnostic outcomes.

Hi Julien, with regards to TR values you mentioned we have a larger threshold using a 3T scanner. Aside from having a stronger magnetic field, anymore reason regarding larger threshold with a 3T magnet

Hello. Thank you so much for watching. Regarding your question, the main reason for the extended TR threshold in a 3T scanner compared to a 1.5T is the increased T1 relaxation time at higher magnetic field strengths. T1 relaxation time is the time it takes for the longitudinal magnetization to recover to 63% of its original value after being perturbed by radiofrequency pulses. At higher field strengths, like 3T for example, tissues have longer T1 relaxation times, which necessitates longer TRs to allow for sufficient recovery of longitudinal magnetization and better contrast in the resulting images. I hope this make sense!

Hello. This is a recurrent question. Sadly, I am not the best expert as far as cardiac post processing is concerned. BUT, I am pretty sure for the future we can invite someone who can gently explain further the topic 👌🏻 stay tuned!

Very good Intel broather 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I'm playing mostly with the concatenations, it let me low the tr, even if ta will rise, what you think about this?

Increasing the concatenations is a very good strategy to avoid changing the weighting of the sequence you want to perform. It can also help you to prevent some specific type of artifacts 👍🏻 well done

I definitely agree. However, the chances of movement artefacts might increase.
