The Mark 3 Sea King had the SN500 AFCS system fitted, designed in the early 90s. The system was the first Digital 4 Axis flight control systems designed in the UK. I worked as part of the Design team and developed all different Auto-pilot functions, happy days.

We had the Sea King at RAF Lossiemouth for a long time, loved seeing it most days! Sad its no longer in service!

I was lucky enough to get a trip in a sea king out of manston as an air cadet. Great fun!

Lucky enough too live within 5 miles of 202 sq raf boulmer SAR Part of our history for years till they were retired too civil sar Such a shame Famously enough used in the ch 4 tv show picking annika rice out of the North Sea in 1987 if I remember correct ? Great interview with John , marvellous character 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
