Frank Barragan Because your brain isn't 100% focused so even when there are jimpscares you do not see them. This same effect can be achieved during horror movie but instead of missing the dam movie cover you ears. People have a cliche of loud sounds now or noises on a frequency to induce fear so covering you eyes and still watching normally severely diminish the blow of the jumpscare.
