Over all I think they are great. One feature that I would LOVE to see is being able to change the field of view of camera. When john was skateboarding you could see he was looking down but the glasses didn't catch the entirety of his run. Making the field of view wider could probably recorded his whole run and showed more.

Haven't seen a video from this channel for a long time. This is pro stuff now. These glasses would be good for journalists, the interviews at the end of meetings, getting faces matched to quotes. They wouldn't do away with a notebook and pencil as tech can fail at the wrong time, and seems to, but these glasses would help nail down interviews with hands free.

So back in 2004 when buying my first action cam, I said "I wish there was a camera that would record / take a pic automatically what I was seeing without strapping a device to my head - especially while driving, walking, riding my bike." After all, on my road trips I see things, but can't always pull over and get out with my camera / phone. Or in the case of a wild animal, getting out my phone / camera would scare it away. After watching matti's and Sara's videos... I think these are a good concept for capturing my environment/ surroundings for my outdoors channel without having to pull out my camera or phone. I do wear prescription glasses, but can get away with not wearing them if not on a computer or reading. I may have to look into these. Video may not be that great - but I think in outdoor lighting during the day and if they are atleast 1080p. It might be usable. A lot of b-roll is only 8 to 14 second clips anyway. I will be watching other videos on these.

The reason for the neon green circles on the snap glasses was to make it clear to everyone that cameras were there as cameras that are difficult to spot could be considered covert spy cameras. The greatest advantage of these glasses is the cameras but the cameras will actually be the focus of most objections to these glasses as they were with Google glasses. The Snap's neon circles was to defuse such criticism. The interesting bit is Apple seems intent to use lidar in order to synchronize augmented reality display to the environment instead of cameras again to defuse privacy concerns.

You don't get it, Facebook is just one actor in the game. You've been spied on every since they cut your umberlical cord, your DNA is harvested. Circulation cameras take a pic of you every seconds and store it on a cloud. Your smartphone that you are using is probably taking pictures while listening. At least with the Facebook smart glass you got some control in your life, you can film accidents, prove an accident or help finding someone who disappeared.

Hey Sara, awesome video! These look like a lot of fun. The privacy issues aside, cameras in glasses (and eventually camera implants) are here to stay. The advantages for so many applications are too good to ignore. How about watching a surgery from a surgeon's actual POV for training? Or any activity where the person's POV is an advantage - skateboards included! I still ride my Boosted round the neighborhood - I wish I had them just for that! TBH, Facebook having such a huge market share in this area really freaks me out - their reputation isn't really stellar right now when it comes to misinformation or disinformation, and for them to hold so much of this new frontier in their pocket is unsettling at best. I still do Instagram, but I left FB years ago for reasons of being in a better headspace every day without it. I don't regret that decision, either. But yeah, I know it's all owned by FB.

As someone who likes to record adventures with minimal effort. (aka I don't wanna pollute my adventure experience by being a filmmaker). These are pretty appealing to me, though I'd want a very different style. (aka aviators). An ideal situation for me would be able to just set them to take a photo every 5 seconds that I can review when I get home. (in raw format of course) ;) I'd also need a prescription option or they are DOA for me.

Please do a comparison to the Snapchat spectacles. I have been rocking smart glasses for nearly 15 years starting with the original Oakley’s and then a original explore with Google glass. These look like they are not any better than Snapchat spectacles version 2. Sure they are better because they have audio speakers but I could just wear my headphones and have the luxury of taking my glasses on and off without having to interrupt my audio. It appears as if the camera quality was an epic fail by not starting with a 16:9 profile with the option to scale. Also calling it stories and not posting it directly to Instagram stories or Facebook stories in the right perspective was also a fail. When I first saw these I was ready to buy now. After watching a few videos I’m going to do a hard pass and stick with my Snapchat spectacles as they are still a superior camera. I haven’t heard anyone mention waterproofing as the Snapchat ones are
