I tried to leave so many times, but couldn't because he always sweet talked me into staying. Then repeat the behavior the next day. Ironically he saved his mother a few times from his dad and put me through the same hell. I had no one to come get me. I had to leave on my own. I finally did it 6 yrs ago. Ive been free from him since then. He still denies everything he did to me. If it weren't for Jesus, I'd still be there. Maybe even unalive. God had a purpose for me and got me away. Thank You, Lord.

I watched the interview she gave about the inspiration in writing of this song. I listened to it with lyrics and it was a moving experience of one’s life behind the a veil. I myself too thought why the strip club, (especially as a woman of faith)? This video could have went many places to depict this personal story that any woman could have related with the same and it be marketable since she’s not a stripper so creative liberties to maker the songs lyrics come into play as not being her own in the video . Women not getting seen, respected and loved correctly goes way beyond women in strip clubs, who by choice set themselves in that arena where that is the mindset of men dishonoring of women to begin with and women dishonoring themselves . Her voice is beautiful, her story heartbreaking to begin with and very relatable for many sadly. I like her heart truly. The Strip club to convey the song not so much.
