Now that the contest is over, I went to look at what position my country placed in and I was honestly shocked. I did not expect us to qualify last Thursday but to find out she placed last is truly disheartening. I know that Loop is very generic, but Sarah’s performance was phenomenal, it did not deserve this. The performance was good, but the song didn't stand out, have an edge or wasn't catchy enough, amongst many other female performers in both semi finals. Maybe it wasn't your thing, but Estonia & Latvia did something different, people that like that sort of thing voted for that, while people who like a female performer were spoilt for choice & split their votes. Btw Malta were last in the final in 2021, whilst in the last 15 years Latvia has only been in the final in 2016 & 2015. I doubt every time their act was just rubbish. You’re literally explaining why Sweden does better lol. It’s because they’re actually providing quality production and innovative staging in the contest while others leave their entries sounding like melfest rejects Secondly what part of this song is sincere ? No shade to the artist but anyone could have been given this song it is your standard girl in a silver outfit flipping her hair on stage. We see this EVERY year. If you’re going to go for that genre at least be the best in that genre: Cyprus Greece and Austria did it miles better. You’re already coming with a basic package and then you’re not even going to be the best in that genre is just laughable

@@samuelgalea7679 Sweden always has good staging and that's why they're doing good, because their songs are just standard tbh (Heroes for example was a very average song that won solely because of the staging, and I'd say that about Tattoo as well although it's a bit less there). What I meant with sincerity is that Sarah's not acting, she's living it (Silia and Marina too). I don't get that feeling from Kaleen or the twins, Kaleen is the perfect example of being the girl in a silver outfit twisting her hair around and then she can't even sing. Furthermore, Malta's songs always sound kind of amateurish and have a certain charme. Next thing about the genres. Greece was going for an ethnic girl bop which is definitely different and less comparable. Austria was going for a nostalgic feeling while Malta didn't, which made it sound like a Melfest reject (I admit this). Cyprus is comparable easily as the songs are very similar, but of those I prefer Malta by far. Lastly, Malta actually did something original on stage, that being the backflip. Can't say that about Austria (although I also liked their dance break) or Cyprus (I really disliked their dance break, there wasn't enough energy for me). We're not seeing that every year, as iirc only Mikolas did a backflip in 2018 and Donny used a blindfold in 2012, so Sarah was the first doing both. Concluded: I think Sarah had the best girl bop.
