I keep coming back to this masterpiece, Sarah. I'm very selective with my playlist, only allow 100 songs. You have 7 spots. I really appreciate your talent. Thank you.

Sarah’s body of work is one of tremendous technical talent punctuated by moments of transcendent genius. This song, like several of her original compositions, takes the listener out of their situation and transports them with rich arrangements that turn on themselves throughout the song. Subtle key changes announce a chorus of emotional transition that pull in you in. She stands out among her peers as a unique American artist and icon.

I show my age by saying, in my opinion, Sarah Jarosz is a throwback to the 60's and 70's. I keep asking "where have all the musicians gone?" Today we have 'pop' music which is another way of saying 'lousy' music. Most of it sounds like words put to 2 or 3 chords. But Sarah is different. Sarah is a musician, and a damn good musician. I hear the musical talent I heard when I was young. Beautiful melodies put to creative chord changes that resonate in the brain. And the words are of course very thought provoking. I have been patiently waiting for Sarah to release new music, and this song does not disappoint. I have grown to know Sarah through her music, and I feel I know her a little bit better with this song. It is a great start to another great album. Keep it coming Sarah. We love you.

I totally agree with you I lived through those times also and I didn't think I would see that kind of music agan .But sarah has it. In fact there are a lot of women singer songwriters now that can do it and there dam good.Its exciting for me because I play and sing but I could never tell the story with enough feeling Its not easy to just let go and do it.but that's what separates the great ones from the not so great.The first time I found this lady I was hooked, her music and lyrics are new and exciting.

Driving last night, I switched to my local indie station just as this song began to play and was transfixed. How beautiful. I count myself fortunate to have stumbled across it... in particular I cannot get over the notes/composition of the chorus. I've never heard anything like it!

Sarah beautifully crafts another masterpiece.. She tells a compelling little story with lovely tones, melodies, and harmonies without the narrow boundaries of traditional bluegrass/folk, while also honoring that tradition. She is a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon.

Perhaps you should preorder “World On The Ground”. I did. Or buy merch from Sarah. Musicians nowadays earn squat from streaming services. One of the few ways they make money is through live performances. Now, with Covid-19, live performances have ended and so much of their income stream has evaporated. I really, really want Sarah (and others) to be able to keep making music. I don’t want them to have to get some other “real job”. And so, I am hoping that lots of people will pre-order her music (and also order music from other musicians) in order to help keep them going through this time and keep them in the music business. Thanks!

Much anticipated and zero disappointment. Sarah’s done it again, only this one, I predict, will get more recognition and airplay than ever. It has all the elements of a pop/country smash! Great harmonies, jangly-echoey guitars and Sarah’s perfect voice. I’m guessing it’s not what she strives for but, do I see MSG, and the like, in her future?

I couldn't pin down why I liked the unsettling harmonies on this so much, then I realized there are similar harmonies on "Cirice" by Ghost. Instruments are quite different, and Ghost and Sarah could not be in any more dissimilar genres, but the flow and drop-end melody lines are close cousins.

Love the production and the song! We know the artist is the mighty Sarah Jarosz,,, but is she also the composer? I don't see writer credits here. Just asking!
@sharonmickey45664 жыл бұрын
I believe Sarah wrote it and the whole album is co produce with John Leventhal..
@jrwasco19784 жыл бұрын
Sarah is the writer on this one. Of the nine originals on this album, Sarah wrote five solo and on the other four John wrote the music and Sarah supplied the lyrics. This is the first album of Sarah's that she didn't co-produce; she put herself in John's hands although I'm sure she had input in the process. Claire, the first time I ever heard you sing, it was on a cover of JJ Cale's If You're ever in Oklahoma. Your voice just melted my soul! I immediately bought the album(EP?) it was on and that song was a mainstay on playlists for years. Is that available anywhere?

@@jrwasco1978 Hello there "jrwawdo1978". Thanks for the info on the creation of and production on these songs. Great to know. And thanks also for the kind words about my own stuff. I have maybe 2 copies of that old album on vinyl and around 5 or 6 unopened CDs of the "Front Porch String Band" self-titled album which included the J.J. Cale song of which you speak. I've thought about putting a couple of them up for sale on my website as a collector's item. Haven't so far. If you're interested, feel free to email me at clairelynchenterprises@gmail.com.
