I enjoyed this review so much! I love Lovely. I'm kind of obsessed with it these days. I only just tried it now. I resisted buying it for years because I had a "thing" against celebrity perfumes. This perfume has made me reexamine what my taste really is. I thought I hated musk. The way you described Lovely as understated and elegant and that it's a quiet, confident, well-behaved, polite, sexy, girly musk really nailed it. I thought I was headed toward the Land of Only Niche perfumes as I got more and more into perfumery. I thought I'd eventually get rid of anything in my collection that was too widely available. I'm realizing now that sometimes there's a mainstream fragrance that can give you just as amazing an experience as the most obscure, tiny batch niche frag. There's room for designer, celebrity and mainstream fragrances on my perfume tray, not just niche. Oh, just have to say that the shade of lipstick you're wearing in this video is absolutely gorgeous on you. It makes your warm, golden complexion glow and it makes your teeth look extra white!

I remember when Lovely was first released and SJP was on Oprah around the same time. Oprah announced on the show that she was crazy for it. During the next few months I smelled it a lot on women at work and fell in love with it. I bought it for myself a few months ago and realized how very unisex it is, as all of her fragrances are. My only complaint is with longevity, but the sillage seems to be a lot stronger than the average perfume. Would be interested to try Lovely Sheer...thanks for the review!

My Sister wears this the original, it's very noticeable on her and has a great silage. I think it smells like Nacisso rodregus for her edp , almost exactly only better imo

Lovely sheer is beautiful! I just found some at my local chemist for $20 each so I grabbed a couple. This smells expensive and absolutely amazing. For the price this is a total steal. It lasts really well on me and You would never know it was a cheaper celebrity fragrance.

You should definitely try born lovely next! if you like a lovely sheer, you will absolutely love. Born lovely it's even better in my opinion..💙

I just bought Born Lovely and I much prefer it to Lovely. The original just went so citrusy on my skin which I didn’t love!

I had Lovely Sheer first. It’s so soft & pretty. That’s what I would wear when going to the doctor or dentist. Other times for sure too. I recently bought Lovely. It’s quite pretty as well. A bit stronger but still rather soft & feminine. I can not be without Sheer. I always have a backup bottle ☺️

The original “Lovely” smells horrible on me. Something about my chemistry takes it to Raid bug spray. I’d like to try the flanker, sounds interesting. I love the SJP NY & SJP Crush.

Whenever I wear Lovely I always get compliments that I smell lovely! My mother in law started wearing it after smelling it on me so I don't wear it too much now as my husband thinks I smell like his mum (even though I wore it first hehehe)! X

I like the original lovely but I wish it was a touch less woody/earthy. I could use a little less of that woodiness, it’s the only note in it that bothers me a bit. Haven’t tried the Sheer version but I’m purchasing it soon.

Hi! I am probably more confused now than ever! I am surprised the way you seemed to absolutely love Lovely.....that you ended up preferring Sheer stating that Lovely is harder to wear. It seemed like you were raving about it...wonder why it would be hard to wear! I am watching this because I need a gift for someone who loves Musky fragrances and I have never tried, or even smelled either one! TFS.

Lovely came in the post today, it’s the lightest almost undetectable scent I’ve ever tried, I get tiny wisps of it, for me it was a waste of money, I’ll try to use it up somehow, maybe Spray tons of it in the bath or something but disappointed, would not recommend.

I love love love the dry down of this. Very lovely scent hence the name haha. The beginning is mature but then the dry down is a sexy musky scent super nice and smooth like you said. My bf loves it also.

Lovely smells like a soft floral. I don’t smell any musk. It’s fresh and clean and calming. At least my bottle is. I just purchased it so maybe it’s changed over the years but it definitely smells like a fresh clean just got out of the bath scent.

Great review! My cousin gifted with with a roller ball of Lovely in an oil format. It must have been part of a set that she broke up. I was so surprised at how much I really liked it. How old is your bottle? I've been thinking of adding it to my collection in regular spray format but heard it was refo'd so I hesitate. Never tried the sheer version but will do so once life is back to normal.

I went to the stores and wanted to smell lovely ( original) but they only had the sheer version. I have it on my wrist now and I love it! Its the perfect everyday scent and my 9 year old daughter was like hugging at my wrist and said I smell cozy....however I've heard that the original is a dupe for narsico roderigo for her edt and I love that perfume. I'm so confused? Are they similar and would having both worth it?

Just from memory, yes they're quite similar. I hear the Narciso performs better than the reformulation of Lovely though 😊

When I tried out lovely the original, my sons ran out of the room. They told me I smelled like their grandma. It’s so strong and so gross. It made me so sick I’m not sure how this got so popular?

This never was originally a skin scent. It was very strong when it first came out. I find now I have to spray at least 10 times. I just purchased the 10 year anniversary bottle because I heard it’s strong like it used to be.

I blind the original and I didn't like it. My son's and husband also smell it and told me this smell awful. I couldn't agree with them more. Will not be using.
